Costco Flowers

Alexandria, on August 7, 2016 at 12:50 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

I have been looking everywhere to purchase flowers at a good price. Has anyone had a good experience with Costco flowers? When is the best time to order? If you know cheaper vendors definitely let me know(:

This will probably sound odd. But I used my local price chopper(grocery store) and they can order flowers in bulk. I was able to get the costs of them so I know the quote when I go back and really get them. I called some regular florists and they were so expensive for some flowers. If cost isn't a problem then, you'll be okay. Grocery store though is reasonably priced. Good luck! (:

Im actually going to our local farmers market and buying all my flowers there. My sister took a floral design class in school and will put her skills to the test. Ill be looking at no more than 50 to 100 bucks!

I have been looking and comparing a few website. Costco, FiftyFlowers, Sam Club and Global Rose. They all have pre-made wedding flowers. I put all the things on my wish list in the cart on all four.

Base on package I wanted, Fiftyfowers has the best price.

But I have someone (retired florist) who also offer to do everything if I get bulk flowers. If I go that route, Costco was the best way to go.

So I would go to each sites and play around with them base on type of flowers and packages that make sense to you. They don't include vases for centerpieces so that's another cost to consider. As far as the quality, base on all the reviews general, they are all comparable. Each website also tell you when you need to order by.

Since I am marrying first, I promise to comeback and report on how they were Smiley smile

I'm in Canada, so my options for bulk flowers are a lot more limited. I'm doing Costco. Doing my trail this month, so I'll try to remember to come back and update. But I've read around a lot and feel super confident in my choice!

We ordered petals for our aisle from BJs online which I imagine is similar to Costco. You ordered them the week of the wedding and they were delivered the day before, and needed to be kept refrigerated until we were ready to use them. They were beautiful and only $76 for 5,000 petals, which was a huge savings compared to what our florist wanted to charge for petals. However, I could not imagine DIYing fresh flowers for a wedding. That is a MASSIVE undertaking.

I'm back to give a few notes on my flower trial.

We ordered one of the 20 euro bouquet pack in white and were super happy with it.

Some of the flowers change seasonally, but they all looked great. We lost one single rose that got smushed at some point.

They arrived on a Thursday, were kept in buckets outside, in the heat, and I'm throwing out the last of the vases today a FULL TWO WEEKS LATER!

They're bundled into bouquets, and since we were reconstructing arrangements, we had to separate all the types of flowers again, which didn't take very long. Just make sure you have ample buckets to move stuff around into. As we separated we trimmed the bottoms.

We figured out how many arrangements we needed and determined our for real order from there. I'm ordering a lot more than I thought I would be, but I'm an idiot and know nothing about flowers.

So the day before the wedding we're hauling everything down to the venue and getting an assembly line of 6 of us to hammer everything out.

    My total order:

    2 euro bouquets

    2 green fillers

    2 hydrangeas

    1 carnation

    1 berries

    total Canadian is 983$

I'm going to have a massive amount of flowers for this cost, and I'm super confident they'll be amazing. We're planning for 29 small teacup arrangements, 10 medium sized arrangements for gift table, bathrooms etc..., and a few large ones for the entrance etc...

I'll toss a couple pictures of the teacups we put together on this post, sorry if the quality isn't great.

And of course the photo is upside down. GashDarn it WW! Smiley winking,

Also, you'll notice in the second image, there's not a whole lot around the bottom edge, we're starting the arrangement with a big hydrangea, then pushing everything else in around it, so it really fills in quick, but we didn't make that part of our order, just used a few from the garden. So they'll look a lot better for the wedding.

Hi Jamie! I know it’s been a while since this post, but I am getting married in Puerto Rico next year and am considering buying flowers in bulk from Costco for decor. When I attempt to add some flowers to my Costco cart online it says, “This product is unavailable for delivery.” Google search also has information saying that Costco does not do delivery in Puerto Rico. Was online ordering of flowers through Costco an issue for your friend’s wedding? Did you have to call the Costco and place the order for pickup over the phone or perhaps place the order in-person? Any information would be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance.

    Best,Alexie
