County boy meets city girl theme ideas

Soon2BMrs., on August 10, 2013 at 8:06 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

Hey I wanted to know what are you ideas for the country boy meet city girl wedding theme? The venue is pretty elegant and I think could represent the "City" but I need more ideas to tie the "Country" theme into it. Especially with the centerpieces. I'm not sure how to tie the two together. I do plan on having a candy bar with nickle and dime type candies (pixie sticks, bubble gum balls, etc.) with brown paper bags with a cute message. I will definitely use mason jars but with handles which both represent the "Country" Also, my main color is royal blue and I will have various pops of color such as yellow, green, fuchsia, and orange. Not really doing the "rustic" feel of the county. I love color. Any ideas?? SN: Royal blue is my FH fav color so I had to incorporate that in there.

Probably before your time, but I'm thinking about Green Acres (an old TV show).

Maybe centerpieces that incorporate toy tractors and high-rise buildings? Mini hay bales and high heel shoes? Horse pulling a plow and horse pulling a carriage (like NYC)? Maybe the centerpieces can be double-sided with one side showing a country theme and the other side showing a city scene?

Cake topper -- groom in bib overalls and bare feet & bride in very sophisticated gown?

My friend is a country mouse city mouse theme too! Her hubby is country, she's very city! They used the fairy tale as inspiration!

Hilery, yes I have. I've found a couple of things that struck my interest.

Thanks Nancy!!! I am going to look that show up! I really like your ideas. You've started me down the creative path! He is from a small town in Mississippi and was raised on a farm and I was born and raised in Memphis. We are kinda opposite as far as our backgrounds. He likes the small country life whereas I love the city and I'm wanting to move to a bigger one (Dallas) lol

MY hubby is very country and I am very city! So much when we met he almost didn't ask me out because of my city accent, hahahah!!

The wedding was in my city so and his family was coming to us for the wedding. It was important for me to make them comfortable since I know the city life was something they were not use to! I didn't do a country meet city theme I just made sure to have some song play throughout the reception that they would like.

Not sure if you guys are living in the city but that is our situation. So the way we looked at it is we didn't want to have country because he's from the country. We did the wedding the way we wanted to our lives now Smiley smile

Our colors were blue and red.
