Couples getting married on August 15, 2020

I know it is deposit crunch time but life is so crazy busy, how does everyone manage to find time to get this right?

We’re getting married two weeks after you on the 29th. We have most of our deposits down on the big things. I feel like you shouldn’t stress about it, just take it all one step at a time. For us it was most important to get the venue, photographer, and dj squared out early which we thankfully got done. Don’t overwhelm yourself, maybe make a timeline of when you want each thing done, and choose specific times/days for you to work toward each specific thing. Even with a super busy life, there’s always a little time here and there to work on things. You’ll be fine! 😊

    Hey there Annette!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

When it comes to putting down deposits, I would recommend you create a timeline of due dates for all the different vendors and create a plan for paying them off. This will help you feel more prepared and less overwhelmed with remembering all the different dates and amounts. You can prioritize whichever vendors require immediate payment and create a plan for paying each of them off.

Have you booked all your vendors at this point?

We're the week after you 8/22/2020. I started early because I'm super type A... and our wedding is across the country.Just take it a step at a time.I'd tackle the venue, then the photographer. I found moments while commuting to work, at work. During lunch break. Once you have the major players booked, you will feel less stressed. Checklists help me a bunch! I keep a notebook, and have a wedding planning binder to make sure I save contracts and other important things.Good luck!

My wedding is a year after yours 8/15/2021 and I'm already freaking out about securing the venue. That is the biggest hurdle for us. Looking at all inclusive locations. Once we have that then we have to tackle the guest list. We are hoping for 70 max. Our guest list is over 100.

Ive got all my photo/video and our photobooth done.

Venue is a friend's family farm so that's all set.

Caterer/Cake/Flowers are all close friends so I have some breathing room there, thankfully.

We're on the 15th! I just wanted to get the venues out of the way, I know summer is busy busy for weddings in my area (WNY). Other than that, we're taking everything as it comes, a lot of places can have a quicker turn around than most people think.

Also, ToDoist, Evernote, Google Calendar. All are your friends!

My maids of Honor are seasoned vets so they made a google spreadsheet we are all allowed to edit. It helps A LOT.

It really does! My type A ass feels much more at ease. Just take care of the things that stress you the most, and make time for the rest over the next six months or so. Those checklists on here are also super helpful.

Like everyone else said, once you have the big stuff locked in -venue, photographer, DJ, you can breathe for a bit. I'm super type A when it comes to planning, it's peace of mind for me knowing I don't have to worry about losing someone I really like and fits in our budget

My wedding is August 15th. I'm still booking vendors but I have a wedding planner that helps me stay on task. I found my venue first, now I'm looking for a caterer and a DJ starting next week. I make sure I take time for myself to keep from getting overwhelmed and to have a life.
