Venues often have payment plans, so you can budget that into your calendar with your first deposit in mind. You can wait until January to order your dress (if not off the rack) as many designers need 6-8 months. If buying off the rack or online, just factor in alterations 1-2 months before your wedding date to accommodate body changes.

I am August 20,2023 bride here. Yes some venues have payment plans to be paid off before your wedding date. I got my dress paid off recently April of 2022. Do the big stuff first because of the costs. Then when it’s get closer to be paid off the venues then you can work on the small costs. It will be less stressful if you do this in order. Don’t wait until the last minute.

I'm August 20, 2023 too!! I actually booked my venue, photographer, and got my dress with the first payments of each in mind. I think you can wait on the dress until February. I'm just a big worrier, so for me it was better if I just got those three big ones down, and because of shipping back-ups and whatnot for the dress.

My venue does have a payment plan, which is still quite a bit (25% per payment), but it's split up pretty decently so I don't have to make such huge chunks of payments back-to-back. Where are you located?

Yea I found my venue and paid for my dress! Now here I am thinking “oh if I look for the dress it would take months for alterations?!?!” Wrong! My dress is ready for pick up next week (granted I made the payment back in Oct 1! Alterations? Pfft with my luck the dress fitted me like a glove. Lol I hope I can say this line in Aug lol I live in NYC the most expensive place to live at 😩 leatylrs-friends.gif

I live in NYC. Was lucky to find a beautiful Venue for 9,000 (not adding the ad ons yet) in total with add ons comes to a good 11,000 (Jesus take the wheel) but I was lucky to break the payments according to the contract I was given. So now I’m budgeting everything. There goes those twice a month sit down at a Resturaunt enjoying that glass of white wine. I have to settle for water lol I’m sure this is all worth it 😊i-love-weddings-happy.gif
