You don’t have a venue yet you’re saying? Make sure you do that soon! 2023 is very booked already and a lot of vendors have already booked most of or all of 2023. Photographers, caterers etc. My photographer and coordinator have booked up a lot of next year already. If you have a date you want I would try to get moving because you don’t have a date until you sign a contract! We booked 13 months in advance for this october and didn't have many options due to covid and the push off of weddings from 2020 and 2021. We're getting married on a sunday as a result.

I give two pieces of advice in looking. Always talk to vendors on the phone or video before booking. Most will want to anyway but trust me the vibes can be way different to what they give off on their website or in email. And book a day of coordinator! A lot of people will tell you that their day was much less stressful with one. They make a wedding day extra smooth and you don’t have to worry about anything. They handle telling all of your vendors when to show up day of and handle them, helping set up, you, and your guests day of! Plus they are there even before day of if you need any advice

I will echo what Taylor said about needing to start making decisions quickly. And I will add, if you don’t already have your dress, you should start looking for that right away also. You are only eight months out, and many designers take that long to get your dress in (plus you will need extra time for alterations).

We booked our venue, photographer and videographer all in fall of 2021 for our fall 2023 wedding and even then, we had vendors turning us away due to already being booked.

When I ordered my dress in April of this year, the bridal shop told me not to expect it to come in until early next year (8-10 months). That's not taking into consideration how backed up seamstresses are these days for alteration appointments.

If you are 'hoping' to get married in March 2023 but don't have anything booked yet, you might be in for a surprise that you'll either need to get really creative or change your date (possibly until 2024 depending on your area). Not trying to deter you, but if you don't have these things booked already, you don't have a date.

We are wedding date twins!! My fiancé and I are doing a destination wedding so we started early but I will say we found a mix of responses when we started booking. Some vendors were already booking up but other types were looking at us like we were crazy booking over 10 months out. That may be attributed to the “island lifestyle” but I will say work on getting your dress and bridal party (if having) outfits ASAP. We did run into some of our women being told that there was a backorder for dresses even from David’s Bridal.
