I'd love to hear more about your wedding! What vendors have you two booked so far?

Trying to revive this thread... Anyone else here May 9, 2020?? I'm on the Philly end of the state and have my venue, ceremony, photographer, and florist (since it's mother's day weekend).

What have you lovelies done already?

Where are you getting married in Pittsburgh?!?! I went to Duquesne for college and I miss the city dearly!

I've done so much already because I'm in graduate school right now and 2019 is a hellish year in my program so I decided to get the big vendors out of the way to keep myself from getting overwhelmed. I booked band and my day-of coordinator today so I've got all my big vendors done! I'm so pumped to go dress shopping next weekend... there's trunk shows in my area for amazing designers and I managed to get appointments at both of them!!

I'm also getting married May 9th, 2020 outside of Philly! We just booked our ceremony/venue, and now I have to book the photog/video, DJ, florist, and officiant. I'm also currently working on boxes for the ring bearer, my flower girls, and bridesmaids.

I'm getting married on May 9, 2020 in downtown Philadelphia. So excited for everyone! I have my planner, photographer, hair, make up, band, ceremony/cocktail hour music and rehearsal dinner spot booked. I go up in a few weeks to look at florists. Does anyone have good tips to choose the right one? Thank you!

Where are you getting married? I'm getting married in center city too!

I booked my florist based on how much she seemed to care about my wedding. She really seemed invested in making sure the flowers were exactly what I envisioned instead of what's popular now and how everyone's personal flowers work together to form my bouquet. I spoke to 2 florists in person and Florist A (the one I went with) spent a good amount of time building a vision from the ground up. Florist B (wonderful work, well known) had a few centerpieces lined up and asked me what I liked and didn't like about those and wanted to use that as the base for planning.

They're both great vendors but go with what feels right and don't let the big name vendors in Philly sway your decision!

I'm getting married at the Ritz Carlton, how about you? We have appointments with Carl Alan & Robertson's at the end of April. I'm excited but I know nothing about flowers haha. How has the rest of your planning gone? Have you picked a honeymoon or rehearsal dinner spot?

I'm getting married the next block over at the Union League! We haven't picked out honeymoon spot yet but we know we want a beach! haha. We're looking at places in Old City for our rehearsal dinner since the ceremony will be at Old Saint Joe's but places open and close so quickly around here we figured it's better to wait until at least the summer. We're planning for our after party to be at Uptown Beer Garden since we went there on our first date.

My sister is getting married in October of this year so I had to start planning a little early If I wanted to take a break in August and focus on her stuff. We are doing our honeymoon in Mexico a few days after. We wanted to go further away but everyone Told is how exhausted they were after the wedding and a long flight would be much more exhausting. Our rehearsal is dinner is going to be at Barbuzzo and our after party is at another room in the hotel.

Our colors are navy, gold, and ivory with ivory, blush, and silver dollar eucalyptus for the flowers! The venue has complimentary gold linens and the chargers are white and gold with a blue logo so I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate the navy a bit more. Congrats to your sister! I hear you about planning early... I'm in grad school so I did a lot early so I wouldn't stress about it.

What about you?? What are your colors? Barbuzzo will be so great for your rehearsal! What other special things are you working into your wedding?

CONGRATULATIONS! That is so awesome! Were you set on one style before you went or did you try on tons of stuff? I'm going in May down in DC and I'm super excited. I feel like I have an open mind but all the stuff I like is somewhat similar haha. How many stores did you go to?

I know my bridesmaids are going to wear navy, everyone looks good in it and it is just so easy to match spring colors with. I think my other colors are going to blush and cream.

My fiance is from Maryland so we are going to have crab cakes as one of our appetizers, flying dog beer shipped in, and old bay fries at our after party. I'm trying to figure out something we can do for PA and MD for our favor.

It's so exciting!! I can't believe how quickly time is flying by! I'm starting to feel the pressure to nail down the last of our major vendors. We have our engagement pictures this afternoon, I'm anxious but excited.

Bluestone Country Club in Blue Bell. They have a beautiful garden area so fingers crossed that we can have the ceremony outside that day! In talks with a videographer and florist at the moment, then need DJ, hotel and transportation. Have an officiant, just need to officially book him as well. I also started dress shopping last weekend and have been to two bridal salons so far, but still haven't found 'the one'. I'm going to try one more place this week and if I still don't find one that I love I'll have to consider that I'm maybe just being too picky lol.

Bluestone Country Club looks gorgeous! You still have time to plan so good luck with everything! I have a lot of my big stuff done (i had surgery in December so I had nothing else to do) but I still have to book transportation, hair/makeup, a 2nd hotel block, and all of my stationary but the rest of our vendors are done!

and you're not being too picky if you don't find your dress at only 2 salons... I went to a total of 5 shops in PA and NJ before I finally settled on a dress at the 3rd store. It's your wedding... you're allowed to have it be perfect.
