Couples getting married on October 4, 2020 in Georgia

ARIEL, on May 30, 2019 at 1:37 PM Posted in Georgia Planning 0 7

Hi everyone!! Date twins!

How are you doing with your wedding planning?!

I would love to stay connected to help each other out.

We can start out by saying when we got engaged and where we are in our wedding planning.

I got engaged May 10th, the day I graduated from grad school. So far we decided on a date and put down a deposit on our venue. That is pretty much it besides me continually adding to my wedding binder.

    Hi Ariel!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

I’m so happy you’re looking for date twins! They’re a great support when going through the wedding planning journey.

What venue did you and your FS book? What do you love about it?

We booked the Piedmont Room in Atlanta. We love that it has these huge windows that overlook Piedmont Park and the city skyline. We are doing an evening wedding because when Atlanta is lit up, it is just beautiful. Will make for great pictures.

Hi Ariel ... I'm getting married October 4, 2019 at the Piedmont Room... we will be anniversary twins! Congratulations on your engagement and happy planning!

I got engaged on my birthday in 2017 and it was the most romantic day of my life. I am 90% complete with wedding planning, just booked my day-of-coordinator on yesterday, making final decisions on invites, still deciding on our engagement photos (not using for save-the-dates), cake, and who will do my hair.

The Piedmont Room is so beautiful and we just had our menu tasting 2 weeks ago and the food was delicious!!

Omg!! How awesome! Congrats to you also!

Isnt the Piedmont Room just amazing? We had kept thinking we wanted to get married in a warehouse setting (Westside cultural arts center was our top runner) but we just couldn’t dismiss how beautiful the room is. We knew it was for us. My fiancé was the one that actually made the final decision and he never makes decisions lol. So I knew he loved it.

We are actually going to do a site visit that weekend so we can get an idea of the lighting and temp and all that for our wedding. Are you just having the reception or the ceremony also? We are doing both. I heard the food is amazing! What did you choose?

Would you share the details for you day of coordinator?

How is did you last so long? I’m wishing our date would hurry and get here lol

    Thank you ...

I absolutely love it and I can't wait until our day gets here (even though FH likes to pretend he isn't excited). We are doing the ceremony and reception there. Are you getting married outside or inside? I will say that Oct 4 of last year it was 90 degrees outside Smiley sad

The food was amazing and we can't stop talking about how good it was. For hors d'oeuvres we chose 1. tempura shrimp with sweet-thai chili sauce 2. mac n cheese fritters with red pepper sauce 3. pulled pork over scallion corn pancake, and crab cakes. For dinner we decided to go with the autumn/winter salad, filet mignon and salmon with au gratin potatoes and broccolini.

I decided to go with Kris Lavender as our day of coordinator, we met her at a bridal show and I loved her energy and then I recently had a phone consult with her and I love that she comes in 3 months prior to the wedding and it's only $1450. I spoke to a few wedding planners and what they offered versus what they charged was crazy and they all only start 4 weeks prior to your wedding day.

We are also using Le Bam Studio as Marina Bonder does all inclusive wedding packages and this way you don't have to find several vendors to bring your vision to life.

Honestly, the time flew. So many people would say my wedding was so far away and literally it is right around the corner. Just take this time to plan and really narrow down who you want your vendors to be. Some days I feel like I should have done so much more last year because I can't believe that we are just 4 months away. The moment your coordinator from the piedmont room sends you your email about event planning and menu tasting is when everything starts to feel real!

Do you have anything else completed, or just your venue?

Just think ...we only have 6 months left in this year!

That information was so helpful!!! All we have done was putting a deposit on the venue and making a rough draft of our guest list. Since its so far away I keep feeling like if I do more then I will be doing everything too early but ppl keep telling me otherwise. I think our moms our more excited and ready to plan more than me lol.

I'm so excited for you!!! Do you have anything left to finish? How many guest are you having? I think that's the most nerve wreaking thing.

Girl...start planning now! Yes, you don't get married until next year but I've had most of my vendors since June of last year and I bought my dress July 2018 and I had to wait 6 months for it to come in. Keep this in the back of your mind... we live in Atlanta and October is a wedding month. A lot of vendors have already started booking their 2020 dates and if you want to find vendors reasonably priced you have to start early. Well you really only have 16 months left : ) Imagine waiting to do all of this in January ... you will be pulling your hair out thinking that you could have done so many of these things last year.

Just start small, propose to your bridesmaids, come up with a color scheme, start researching your vendors, attend bridal shows ( try to only go if they are free), and get an email account strictly for wedding stuff.

We have around 80 guest with our original number being 75. Also, make sure you include you and your FH in your guest count because the two of you have to eat and drink as well and save money for vendor meals because you have to feed them too.

All I really have left is 1. Take engagement photos (we aren't doing save-the-dates) 2. Find someone to do my hair the day of 3. Finish registry and wedding website 4. Finish our playlist

Then of course it's like a million little things... purchasing my veil, garter, card box, guest book, dress alterations, finding a shoe, getting invitations printed and mailed, undergarments, and jewelry.

I'm really excited for you ... the time goes fast! Enjoy the planning and take all the help you can get!!!!
