Couples shower?

Jessica, on July 18, 2019 at 6:01 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 13
Quick question. My mom (who is hosting my shower) threw out the idea of a couples shower and having a few of our male family members there as well as FH. She called it a Jack and Jill but had never heard of what I was talking about when she mentioned that name. I have read online a "Jack and Jill" is typically where people pay money basically contributing to the wedding or honeymoon. That is NOT at all what she wants to do nor what we want, so what do we call it? Just a couples shower? I don't want people to get the wrong idea about what it is and call it the wrong thing 😂🤷

Could you just call it a wedding shower instead of bridal shower?

Just call it a couples shower. Takes out the guesswork and any possible misunderstandings!

I like the idea of a jack and Jill shower actually because the groom gets to be showered too aha. I had a bridal shower and I gotta say it was so fun.
Wedding shower is a good way to put it

We had a wedding shower that was co-ed, instead of a bridal shower.

I asked for it to be that way, because it's the two of us, not just ME getting married.

Jack and Jill just means that its a male and female party, not just one or the other. Typically I see this on baby shower invitations. I've never heard that it means to contribute money. I would just call it a wedding shower and address the invitations to everyone and not just the female relative/ friend.
