Couples that paid for their own wedding, do you regret spending so much?

Hi there! My fiancee and I are fully financing our wedding ourselves with little help from family on both sides. We are very excited to get married and on the same page financially etc. Just wanted to see if any other couples out there are financing their own weddings and if you regret having a big wedding due to this etc. I often see a lot of people whose families pay for their large weddings. So just wanted to see the other end of the coin. Thanks!!!

We paid for ours ourselves but we really budgeted well, kept our guest count in the 30s and made compromises. So in the end it was ridiculously cheap comparatively and we were comfortable with what we spent. We have no regrets for spending what we did or on what we did. I wouldn't do it over, it was a perfect day.

We paid for our extreme large wedding ourselves and don’t regret a thing. We made sure every one was paid the day before the wedding and all credit card charges were at 0 when we walked down the aisle. No regrets.

My fiancé and I are 100% covering every aspect of our wedding. So far, we are way over budget, but have zero regrets. We have complete control over what we spend on and it feels very liberating to have such freedom without the pressure of contributors.
