Courthouse ceremony?

Anissa, on January 11, 2019 at 12:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Do we really need an engagement ring AND wedding band? We are getting married at the courthouse and I’m wondering if we can save and buy only the wedding band.

You guys can do whatever you want! Usually people assume a woman is married and not engaged when she has both rings on. Amazon & Etsy have some really simple rings for $15-$50 too if you are just wanting a basic wedding band.

Nope, not needed! You can wear just one. I only wanted an engagement ring because two just seem too clunky (hubby happy, it saved him money).

Of course you don’t need two rings! Smiley smile Just use your e-ring during the ceremony. I wasn’t planning on having a band but did order some last minute. Idk if I’ll end up wearing them or not. I have a friend who got married last year and she doesn’t have a band either, just likes the look of only the one ring.

Niether of us want to spend on a e-ring, we’d rather splurge on wedding bands. Do you think I’d be breaking tradition?

We were on the fence about this too, because of the cost. But when we went ring shopping, we found a two piece ring that basically serves as both. I can wear the "engagement" part alone (center stone), but I think it's prettier with the two pieces together, so I wear both, even though we're not married yet. Here's a pic. The "wedding band" part is the two smaller stones with the thinner band.
