I would take her to lunch/call her and just ask in person. You don't want her to feel like she has to say yes. If she says yes, then you can send flowers or a gift box, but to ask with one also leads to people feeling obligated.

Boxes are expensive and unnecessary. Just ask her over the phone or a coffee date.

What exactly do you mean by taking mom’s place? Doing what activities specifically? She doesn’t need to. Many brides don’t have a mom and that’s ok but no one needs to take her place either.

Help you get dressed and ready on the wedding day? That is what your bridesmaids often do.

I don’t have bridesmaids so that will be hard to do. I see I ask a question and u come back with your own answer and question. I just ask a simple question that’s all so I’ll appreciate if u just don’t answer. Have a good one

Having your cousin be your supporter is not a problem - having her try dresses with you, get ready with you, etc is totally fine and you can pick anyone to do that. But asking someone to "take your mom's place" feels disrespectful to your mother.

The mother of the bride rarely has a specific role in a wedding, unlike perhaps the father of the bride, who traditionally walks his daughter down the aisle and does a father-daughter dance with his daughter the bride. Many moms will get ready with the bride, take family photos, and participate in the procession, but you can have your cousin do all or none of those things without being a "replacement" mom.

I would just ask your cousin if she wouldn't mind helping you out with wedding stuff and naming some specific tasks you would like help with - like going with you to pick our a dress and helping you get ready the day of and perhaps helping with your bustle and bouquet. Bridesmaids are really irrelevant too - you can invite people to get ready with you without them being in your wedding party or having them wear specific outfits that go with your wedding colors and theme.
