Cover up walls in the hall!

Kimi k., on March 2, 2011 at 11:53 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

OK, so we are renting out the Knights of Columbus hall right down the street from the church...easy and economical.....BUT, the walls are a BRIGHT baby blue and bright primary blue......Any ideas on how to cover this up? I was thinking fabric, but I dunno!

Fabric could be costly. How tall are the ceilings? The room that my buffet is in, at my venue, I need to hide excess furniture, so we are hanging panel curtains to seal off the area.

The problem area has average ceilings (8-10'ish) I was thinking curtians or extra tablecloths?

I bought my panels at Walmart. THey were not expensive at all. I bought the longest length they had. My FH is adhering them to the walls with velcro. The biggest table cloth is 90 X 156 for an 8 foot table. Check on Ebay. I paid $69 for 5 90 X 132(for a 6 foot table). The panels from walmart were less expensive.

I would go with Carole's idea, get curtain panels, some can be really pretty even at Walmart ...

We bought these...6 panels...in tan. We need to cover furniture and bright red paint. Each panel is 42W X 84 L.

Do you want it totally covered, or sheer?

I prefer to have the walls totally covered....at least just the main ones around the buffet for pictures sake....it will be dim so, the rest of the walls aren't such a big deal. I need to go back and measure....

Keep any flames away. Better still, get flame-retardant fabric.

Have you checked out Shindigz.com and considered gossamer? It's a company that does lots of decorations for Proms, etc.

Might be far fetched but would they let you paint the walls? It's cheaper than fabric. Those colors are so outdated.
