Covid-19 and Summer Wedding

Sydnee, on March 15, 2020 at 10:07 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6
Hi lovelies! I am a bride getting married in Texas in late July and, like many, are contemplating what this outbreak and prevention efforts mean for our wedding (of over 200 people). How are y’all navigating this and what does plan b entail?

July 11 here. I think it's far too early to make any decisions about what our summer weddings will look like. Honestly, if the US does its part to help decrease the spread of COVID-19 through social distancing, I'm hoping that it becomes much less of an issue by the middle of May. I would say to hold off on any plans to alter course until at least mid/end June. Since this is unprecedented, it's hard to imagine where we'll be in 3 months, let alone 4.

We are July 25th. We are trying to stay positive and keep our hopes us. We will be waiting this thing out until June and then we will make a decision to postpone the wedding and honeymoon...

I think by July you might be ok, especially in Texas. Doesn't hurt to talk to your vendors and see what a plan b situation looks like, where you would move your date and how much each one would make you pay extra. We got extremely lucky with our awesome group of vendors - we were able to move our April 4th wedding to August 15th without paying any extra.

Staying positive. We are on June 6th. My plan b is either the courthouse or my parents back yard. My fh and I have been together 7 years and it's time to get married. I will honestly be happy either way!

    I'm getting married June 6th.
I see no reason to panic, or to cancel any of our plans.

Lots of school closing and events shutting down for the next 3 weeks to slow and contain the spread .
I have every reson to trust that things will back to normal in 30 days.
I'm still 80 days away, I feel that if proper health precautions and social distancing is followed this too shall pass.

    June 20th here.

I am so worried about this all not blowing over like I am hoping. As of right now it is too early for me to cancel, but I am worried about invitations. I planned on ordering them this past weekend and have held off.

My heart aches for all the other couples who are cancelling their March and April weddings. I am trying to stay hopeful for June!
