My wedding is March 29th and it’s local. My guests are at 135 and so far no one has canceled, and no one is coming by air. We also have honeymoon planned the day after in Cancun Mexico at a resort. I am just so so sad, frustrated and anxious about what will happen with my wedding day. Like what if this gets even worse in the next 3 weeks, and the venue cancels my wedding. We’ve planned this for 13 months and I’m just so discouraged.
What are other brides doing?

I’m getting married May 9th. Everyone keeps saying hopefully it’s over by then but I’m panicked. I’ll forget and then go to do wedding stuff, get discouraged and then not want to do it anymore.
I’m having a really hard time with this. I told my FH if our venue cancels and we reschedule, we will get married at the court house on our date and have our wedding later. Try to stay as calm as you can. I’ll try too.

My reception is at a city facility,so we made a backup plan if they decide to shut it down. All of my vendors agreed to set up at the new reception location if that were to happen so I'm grateful for that. When we first started planning this, the worst thing we thought could happen is that it'll rain (our reception is in a courtyard.)

We are all praying. Mine is in Punta Cana March 21st, half of the people attending already canceled, on top of that my daughter has been coughing. I mean all seems to be going downhill. I’m just crossing my fingers and praying.

Our is on the same day! 6/20/20 in Colorado. We live in the SF Bay Area and many of our guests will be flying in from Colorado and other states... I have had some anxiety but like you said, I have no idea what to expect yet because it's over 3 months away. We didn't plan on going on a honeymoon right after the wedding so that's not a stress right now. Honestly I'm grateful because I don't want another thing to worry about. Hope the best and stay positive! Smiley smile

    Hey Rachael,

We had the same date in NYC and decided to postpone to September. Our venue gave us the option to do it, and since we have a lot of older guests, we decided to do it. I'm considering the legal marriage option too, but worry I'll regret that I didn't just wait to do it all on one day. If you decide to do the court house option, could you let me know? Also, like would you wear your dress, etc.? It's such a difficult decision and disappointment.

For me it's not a difficult choice because I don't want my wedding date to be anything different. I will not wear my wedding dress, but will save it for the actual wedding. I might look into getting a cheaper wedding dress if that happens though.
It is a disappointment, but I am hoping that come Mid-April things will be on the mend

Hang in there with a lower guest count you should be ok. I am hoping because we stayed in the 100 ish range people won’t feel too uneasy with the crowd

I am with you my wedding is 3/30. Its like your living on edge not knowing what will happen. I have contacted my venue and honeymoon location to see my options. Worse case - we will have to postpone but waiting to see if the government will order us to do so.

We’re the 21st as well, but we’ve have 5 cancellations: 1 military, an elderly couple, and a couple flying in from New York. I expect we’ll have some more cancellations this week, but I’m just hoping that the CDC doesn’t actually ban events with over 50 guests... our guest list is 80

That's exactly what we're doing. Our wedding is April 9th. Let's pray this goes away as soon as possible.

Ugh I feel you! Our wedding is on June 6 in Miami and we’ll be having a lot of out of state guests flying in. So far no one has cancelled, instead some are taking advantage of the low flight prices to book their flights for our wedding! Our venue also won’t cancel or postpone unless Miami becomes a level 3 CDC travel area (which probably won’t). I’m trying to remain optimistic about the whole situation, the virus is like the flu and will probably reduce soon (hopefully when it starts getting warmer). Our honeymoon is the day after our wedding and we would be going to Tokyo and Thailand if all goes well!

My wedding is this Saturday, we are kicked out of our venue because it’s a church. We had to uninvite all of our out of town guest and could only invite our local ones. We moved our wedding to an intimate backyard wedding with only 50 people instead of the 130 people originally. We are planning to have a party for everyone once this whole thing blows over.

Honestly, I’m pretty heartbroken we had to do this. It’s unfair, I spent eight months working my butt off on my own to plan this wedding and now I have less than a week to replan again.

I'd reach out to the venue and all of your vendors now to find out their contingency plans regarding the virus. Hopefully they'll be willing to work with you to reschedule if necessary and apply alll your payments to your rescheduled event. Good luck!

I had my shower yesterday and over half that rsvp’d yes cancelled. I’m sick to my stomach BBC and terrified it’s gonna get worse before better. We were going to go to Seattle by my Fiancé’s sister for our honeymoon. Yeah, doesn’t sound like that’s happening anymore.
All I can do is pray this passes quickly and people settle down.

Were getting married on March 28th. Most guests are local and working with my vendors now. Hoping to still move forward with everything. We have 200 confirmed guests and if it comes down to it, might just limit to immediate family. Praying for wisdom and peace and trying to do the best for everyone involved.

I'm a wedding officiant, and I'm writing out procedures and policies for the CV era. Here is the part of that that touches on retainers and refunds:

"My contract states that the retainer is non-refundable, but
if you book your wedding with me and have to cancel or postpone because of the
CV, I will happily credit you what you’ve paid towards a later wedding. I want
you to be able to plan now with confidence."

I know this isn't perfect, but it seems like every vendor should at least to this.

Our date is 4/11 and Im in a panic. Ive been asked multiple tomes if we are “rescheduling.” 🤔 There is NO way to just reschedule 9 vendors/deposits/new invites/new printing of signage, gifts, programs, etc.... the list goes on and on!

Im just SO sad and it shouldnt be this way! I should be enjoying these next few weeks! I feel selfish in a way, but so much love, time, energy, finances have gone into this!!!

Right!? I definitely agree that it’s been stressful! Mine is 5/31/20 and I just received an email saying that the CDC is recommending that there be no events larger than 50 people for 8 weeks! I’m freaking out hoping this doesn’t effect us. My venue and vendors have not said anything so I think we’re still good but I’ve been planning this for over a year and I’m so sad, disappointed, angry and anxious. My grandpa is coming so we will see. A lot of my guests are out of state so I will have to see how this effects my guest list.

Where are you located? IL and Ohio closed all restaurants and bars through the rest of the month. Hopefully that doesn’t happen nationwide, but more states will follow for sure
