My wedding is March 29th and it’s local. My guests are at 135 and so far no one has canceled, and no one is coming by air. We also have honeymoon planned the day after in Cancun Mexico at a resort. I am just so so sad, frustrated and anxious about what will happen with my wedding day. Like what if this gets even worse in the next 3 weeks, and the venue cancels my wedding. We’ve planned this for 13 months and I’m just so discouraged.
What are other brides doing?

My wedding was supposed to be April 4th. My venue canceled. Its hard to even know what date to postpone the wedding to, then i worry some of these vendors who have my deposits might go out of business during this time and I'll be out all this money. Such a tough time for everyone so its hard to know how to handle it.

I'm in the same boat as you. Wedding date 4-11-20 in my hometown of Houston. We are tentative for our date and giving it until April 3rd to see how things continue to play out or if our ban will be extended. Our next possible date is May 16th. Surprisingly I'm not frantic but going with the flow. It sucks that so much of our design has our date encrypted but whatever date we actually get married we're going to act like it's still the 11th. I'm not changing a thing, I've already invested a ton of money. What I do know is we better be able to have this ceremony before my botox wears off! LOL

I was having the same problem - my wedding was going to be on April 25th. We decided to "postpone" the big reception celebration until our first year anniversary, but still get married this year on April 25th!! Our vendors have been very great about it, and let us push back the booking date!

Sadly, were told to postpone now that MD can't have groups larger than 10. I am currently waiting on a reschedule date to be approved Smiley sad

We have postponed our 3/28/2020 wedding here in California. We had 160 people coming, people were canceling left and right. It is so unfair but we are taking it day by day. As of now, we plan on having a small ceremony on the 28th for clsoe family less than 20 people, then having the big wedding on 8/23/2020.

I think that’s a good idea. Maybe we will do the same. I didn’t even think of that. We postponed our reception a year out because I am STUCK on having a spring wedding. The flowers, the colors...they all coincide with a spring wedding and I don’t want my bridal party to have to buy new dresses, and I’ve already purchased my decor and things. I don’t want to spend a boat load of extra money trying to switch things up now

I'm with you on this, ours is right at the start of October, but when you see headlines suggesting we might not be able to resume normal life for up to 18 months while therapies and vaccines are developed... and even if it starts clearing up in, say, August... well, I start thinking I should be proactive and just push the big party to October 2021, and not deal with people possibly unable to RSVP in time because the travel situation isn't clear yet, possibly not being able to bring my mum over to do dress fittings until the last minute, etc. :/

Omg date and city twin! Sadly we decided to postpone our 4-11-20 wedding 😢. We had too many out of towners and old folks. Good luck with yours!

Thank you! Same to you. I hope you aren't stressing too much although I'm perfectly aware of how stressful the prepping for the day is without handing us all this curveball called COVID-19. Have you chosen a new date or are you waiting until things calm down?

We struggled picking a new date becuz who knows when things will let up. But we chose one nonetheless becuz we needed something to look forward too, and we were worried if we didnt, dates wouldn’t be available. We r still having a small, intimate ceremony of less than 10 ppl on 4/11/2020. I hope our guests dont mind on 10/31/20 (our new date) that all our favors, guestbook and other things already have our 4/11/20 date 😅. Not getting new ones! Wishing you many blessings!

Yeah, and who knows how long this virus chaos will last? It could still be a thing that people are going to be worried about in the fall, we don't know! I'd say just do a first year anniversary reception, people will definitely be understanding.

I’m in the same boat all my vendors are saying they are still a go, I’m getting married the 28th and by no means planning on cancelling! Luckily we’re not going on honeymoon until another month

I work with in a healthcare lab testing for sars/covid 19 so I've been following this closely. I'm sure that this is heart breaking but any group of 10 or more is not advisable and will spread illness.
This will not be getting better anytime soon. Shelter in place orders will hopefully be coming soon. The number of infected and death are artificially low due to lack of testing. Our lab just started this last week.
The US is going to look more like Italy than South Korea or China. I would strongly advise postponing.
