My wedding is March 29th and it’s local. My guests are at 135 and so far no one has canceled, and no one is coming by air. We also have honeymoon planned the day after in Cancun Mexico at a resort. I am just so so sad, frustrated and anxious about what will happen with my wedding day. Like what if this gets even worse in the next 3 weeks, and the venue cancels my wedding. We’ve planned this for 13 months and I’m just so discouraged.
What are other brides doing?

I feel your concern as our wedding is 4/24/20. I don't want to rescheduled either but I will have to wait and see how things go. I am hoping that all affected bride and grooms will get to celebrate their big day. Hang in there!

    Hi Cheryl,
I am so sorry you are going through all this stress! My wedding is May 30th and we are trying to wait it out and see what happens in a couple weeks. NJ governor (where my wedding is) said no weddings or gatherings for a week to months- I am praying the restriction is lifted by May. We contacted our venue, but they were having a meeting with the board and going to get back to us (still haven’t yet) ... what state are you getting married in? Best of luck to you and all the future married couples out there!!!

We were getting married in May but we have decided to postpone it for the health and safety of all of our guests.

Our wedding is 4/11. We decided to just have a small private ceremony, and have all our guest stream in via a streaming platform. Our venue was concerned as well so they agreed to push our wedding reception later in the year, so that our guest can celebrate with us. Because this pandemic is unknown and we are all literally on pins and needles daily, the stress wasn't worth it in my opinion. My brother lives in Europe, one of my bridesmaids lived in Canada, older grandparents couldn’t be there so we just said bump it. Let’s just have a private ceremony and once this thing blows over have a reception later.

Another reminder. Thank GOD I got my marriage license last week because a lot of court houses are closed for the next 30 or so days. Don’t forget to get your marriage license just in case.

My wedding date was April 18, 2020. We decided this past Monday to be proactive and call the venue to postpone, I still wanted a Saturday wedding in 2020, they only had 2 Saturday’s left, weekend of July 4th and Saturday , October 31st. We went with October 31st. As hard of a decision it was to postpone, it was the right thing, we were able to book all our same vendors, venue and the church for the 31st. Where I live they shut the county down from having any weddings, funerals or parties. We don’t know what’s going to happen, I think postponing gave me more peace of mind than waiting every day. I hope you’re able to do whatever works best for you.

I am getting married in October and am very anxious that plans will get cancelled and changed. I am sorry your date is so close to this issue in the world right now but I hope you and your guests will still have a beautiful day. You may want to look into your honeymoon. We had everything planned and paid for in Cancun for October to November and just received an email yesterday that our trip had been cancelled, which seems ridiculous since it is so far in advance. It might be hard, but just know you are still getting married to the love of your life and we may need to be flexible in our plans. Good lucK!

Virginia, my heart goes out to you. It is a horrible time right now and so frustrating for brides and their perfect wedding. Your fiancé is probably just trying to go with the flow of things because that's what they do. Try not be angry and upset because that's not healthy. Do Not let this horrible time ruin the love you have for each other. We all want everything perfect for the perfect day and unfortunately, it is not anything you can control. I'm sure you've cried and yelled and screamed "Why is this happening to me?" but it's happening to everyone. For what it's worth, I send you a hug and prayer and remember, everything will be okay in the end.

I would wait it out as long as you can to make your final decision. That's what we did. We were supposed to get married on April 17th and finally decided to postpone to July 17th. Good luck.

Doesn’t your state have a person count ? I’m in Florida and it’s 10 person. They shut down a wedding recently for 135 guest.

    Hi Cheryl,

I'm honestly shocked your venue did this, I understand that they had a contract and everything, but they make it seem like the virus is your fault. You most definitely do deserve a contract, maybe check to see if wedding insurance will cover for this?

March 28th. Our beach destination wedding venue has been closed and resort has cancelled all reservations until mid April. We’re scurrying to find a local outside venue. Likely will have to be church but we will see. Awaiting responses from local park lake venue, garden venuev and a riverside venue. We need less than an hour and I’m praying they take the situation into consideration!!

My wedding is April 18 and our venue did cancel. Family and bridal party are backing out and I am beyond upset and discouraged. I broke down last night. I have been planning this for over a year and we have been together for 11 years. I hope everything works out and you get your special day

Our wedding date was March 26th. Since we are in California, the venue was forced to postpone due to local regulations. We were extremely disappointed with the news after planning this day for the past year, but our guests and the venue and the rest of our vendors have been so great about everything. We were offered any available date to reschedule with no deadline and a 20% discount on the total venue cost. Our vendors have also agreed to work with us for rescheduling and the florist sent a beautiful free arrangement to our house and my hair stylist offered a free trim before the new date. Everyone is doing so much more for us that I could have ever imagined.

I hope everyone else who is unlucky enough to experience a postponement knows that they are not alone. We will have to postpone our wedding until next March unfortunately due to our work schedules. The bright side is we will have plenty of time to plan in more detail than we ever did before (even with a year of planning, we still felt a bit rushed as the date got closer)!
For all the vendors out there, I hope you can be just as understanding as my vendors have been. We were considering cancelling everything instead of postponing, but everyone has been so nice and thoughtful that we still want to give them our business and share our day with them.

Mine was April 18 too. We cancelled last Monday. I cried for one day then I got moving to scout a new venue. We were planning destination wedding and now planning local. Focusing on a new plan is keeping my mind off being sad

Any updates on those who had March Wedding Days? Were you able to still have it? My Wedding is May 23rd which is 60 days away and I'm deathly afraid. I need everyone to stay in their house so that this curve can flatten and we're let back out to our regular lives.
