My wedding is March 29th and it’s local. My guests are at 135 and so far no one has canceled, and no one is coming by air. We also have honeymoon planned the day after in Cancun Mexico at a resort. I am just so so sad, frustrated and anxious about what will happen with my wedding day. Like what if this gets even worse in the next 3 weeks, and the venue cancels my wedding. We’ve planned this for 13 months and I’m just so discouraged.
What are other brides doing?

Our wedding was May 24th and after discussing things with our venue we decided to postpone. We live in CA and the entire state is currently shelter in place. Everything is shut down/cancelled. While I don't think we would be shelter in place still by my wedding, my venue has closed until the beginning of May so we wouldn't know if we could have our wedding until about 2-3 weeks before. I was SO stressed out and upset and discouraged. But, the health and safety of our guests comes first. So, we postponed yesterday until September. I am actually insanely relieved and happy now that I have a final date that I know wont change due to this crazy crisis. I say, have a back up plan just in case depending on where you live.

We can have ours at home but we have almost everyone coming from out of town and they dont want to travel. It's really hard to push the date back. What we've decided is that we will get married on our date by our pastor and then have a ceremony once this madness subsides. I am hoping and praying everything can go back to semi normal in a little over 3 weeks.

    Hello, Erin:

Thank you for your kind words! I was doing pretty good managing my stress before my venue dropped the bomb on us!!! We were planning to getting married in Maryland, but we will have to re-think everything if we are not reimbursed. I hope things turn out well for you!! Blessings!!

    Hello, Rhiamae:

Yes, we are devastated that they would have no wiggle room in this unfortunate situation!!! It's UNBELIEVABLE!! We are going to start looking into the insurance. Hope things go well for you and your fiancee.

I just went through this, we had 92 people and as it got closer the date, many started canceling due to the restrictions in their state for those traveling, others had compromised immune systems and cancelled on their own. Just make sure you stay informed of how many people are allowed and stay in touch with your venue. My son put it clearly for me, it's not about everyone else, it's about you and your future spouse, as long as the 2 of you are there with the minister that's all that matters. For me, I was devastated at first but realized that he was right, everyone was paid, we would still use the venue, the caterer, the cake DJ even if it was just us; the reception is to help celebrate your union, but can be done by streaming or FaceTime, Duo, Skype, etc., just keep your faith and stay calm, it'll work out.

We got married this past Saturday, with 20-25 guests out of 92 and it was a great intimate affair that everyone enjoyed considering the restrictions. Most people will contact you about the venue or if it's still on, so be patient as well and keep a calm head.

Don't worry, just keep informed and pray, you got this!!!

Hi there!! I feel exactly the same, our wedding was planned and scheduled nearly a year in advance as well and we have family coming by air, and it’s taking place in Pennsylvania, so all our vendors were shut down until literally the day AFTER our original wedding date! We were meant to be married May 9, but now we’ve since rescheduled for October 4. It stinks, because many couples will be forced to postpone! My date went from 49 days away to 197!! 😩

My Wedding is on 5/2/20 as well. Im trying to go about it as if it’s still going to happen. I called the venue and they are closed till April so waiting to hear from them as to what is going to happen next. I’m trying to stay positive and praying. Thinking of a plan B if it doesn’t work out just as we originally plan. Maybe a small ceremony that day and a vow renewal on the date we move our reception to if that happens to be the case. It’s hard also cause we have family flying in for so many different places.

Ken Lynn praying for you and your special day. I think we all are at a wait and see point. I think the great part is the venue hasn't changed. My big day is 45 days out and we did a temperature check with our venue whose also the caterer and they aren't doing any events currently Hilton Head is shut down but we're prayerfully waiting. Keep us posted and congratulations, we all will get through Corona. Continue to stay safe. Smiley ring

    Pfieldi,

Thank you so much for the well wishes.. it was a tough time but things worked out great and sometimes smaller is way better. There's more room to move around and you can meet and greet everyone.

Us too. We postponed our April wedding till September. Its so hard to tell if itll even be better by then. A lot of people are not listening to this social distances & I fear that it may prolong this entire situation for months.

    Hi Teresa,
I feel the same our citizens are not adhering to social distancing and I too fear it will not level the plane. My wedding is October this year and I’m stressing so I can only imagine these brides that’s between now and July’s stress levels. Let’s continue to pray , practice social distancing and WASHING OUR HANDS!!!
    All the best ladies...
