I am just so so sad, frustrated and anxious about what will happen with my wedding day. Like what if this gets even worse in the next 3 weeks, and the venue cancels my wedding. We’ve planned this for 13 months and I’m just so discouraged.
What are other brides doing?

We are getting married 3/22 and are getting married with or without a venue! If our venue cancels, we are finding the nearest public park and doing it there instead. All we need is the officiant and we’re married; whoever can’t come will miss it!

My wedding is 3/28 in Northwest Indiana, we are expecting 165 people. We are 16 days out and Indiana just said no gatherings of 250 or more but what of that changes in the next two weeks. What if we are locked into pay for 165 and only 60 people show we are out so much money. I am going to talk to my venue and vendors tomorrow see what they say.

We’re getting married April 18th and I just had my first public sob session in the parking lot of Target. Everyone needs to fly in—including FH and I. This very hard to deal with and it feels very overwhelming. So far no one has cancelled so we are in a holding pattern. But it is so hard to finish planning under these circumstances.

We had to replan ours so it’s not the end of the world just feels like it. You find a date that all venders seems able to work for. But you cry get upset and start plan all over again.

Wedding next weekend and will begin to reach out to guests to let them know about the precautions taken at our reception and ceremony venues. I still plan on getting married on March 21!

I love this perspective! My fiancé and I are getting married on May 9 and while it’s relatively local, we do have a few out of state guests who have indicated they are coming but we’re preparing for our guest count to drop as well just due to the nature of this climate. Anxious to see if my future sister in law can even make it anymore bc she’s based in Finland. We have a large wedding and we were originally expecting around 270 people. My biggest concern is ensuring my parents are okay and healthy on the day of and leading up to it, especially my dad. I’m so glad to have stumbled upon this discussion group! Funny thing is 3 of my coworkers are also getting married in may and we’ve started our own little doomsday wedding planning support group. Hopefully things will work out for us all! Prayers and positive thoughts to everyone!

Our wedding is set for May 2nd, 2020in Washighton State, where the virus first appeared in the country and where it has spread the most. I wasn’t worried until the last few days, when the governor has banned any gatherings over 250 people and discouraged anything smaller along with closing all the schools in 3 counties until April 24th. We have been talking to our vendors and I think have decided on moving it to either 8/29 or 9/5. Luckily everyone has been super accommodating and available for the possible future dates. Part of me wants to wait and hope things will clear up by May, but making the decision to postpone now gives us a lot more control of the situation. Good luck to everyone! I would definitely advise reaching out to venues and other vendors, even without insurance with everything going most will understand and try to work with you as best they can.

We have 9 days left and I just got my first cancellation through text of 3 people. At this point, whoever will come will come. I'm just ready to be married.

I’ve been thinking...what if this gets better?!! What if all this social distancing slows this thing down? I have to remain optimistic and hopeful! I’m praying we all get to experience our wedding days as planned!

I’m a 6/6 bride - feeling the same way. Go between being sick with worry to charging ahead with planning, trying to stay positive and hopeful. About 25% of my guests are flying in - no one has canceled yet but we’ll see. Hoping for the best for all of you!

We got a call from our venue today and they canceled the wedding! They offered a full refund or a reschedule but I’m honestly devastated. It was literally next weekend and I had this perfect image in my mind. I feel like we don’t have time to plan anything else with a weeks notice and I’m not sure what to do. Hoping the best for all of you but just know that a cancellation is a real possibility. Smiley sad

I’m so happy i am not alone in this. My wedding is 3/28 in cabo and it’s so hard to get excited with everything going on. I feel so much pressure to cancel and selfish to ask everyone to still fly .. my fiancé thinks we will be fine and i have my doubts but as of now the wedding is still on. I hope everything works out for you.
