Covid-19 Bridal shower

Ashley, on April 25, 2020 at 12:03 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6

Hello everyone,

My sister is getting married on June 20, 2020. She is adamant about keeping this date as she has been planning for her big day for a year and a half now. As her maid-of-honor, I am in charge of putting on her bridal shower. Her bridal shower was originally scheduled for today, April 25th and as a result of COVID-19 it has been postponed. Since my sister is not moving her date I want to be able to still shower her in gifts. I have thought about doing a drive-up shower, but the majority of the bride and groom's friends and family live out of state and are unable to cross the state borders as a result of the stay-at-home orders. Any suggestions on how to do a mail bridal shower? I have thought about a gift card shower, but I'm not sure if I should have gifts sent to her. house or mine since she may not be home when the gifts arrive. I am open to all suggestions at this point. My sister deserves the world and I am so sad to see her big day being affected by this virus.

I’d have the gift cards sent to you and then put them all in a beautiful box then personally deliver them. Maybe leave them in her doorstep with a bouquet and a note and then call her and tell her to go outside.

We did a Zola registry and the gifts can be shipped to you to give to her or shipped directly to her.

I would have people send gifts and then you can have a fun opening of gifts with those who live closer and take pictures with the gifts to thank people.

A friend of mine had a surprise bridal shower. The hostess had all of the gifts sent to her and she had the bride go upstairs while she decorated her living room and brought out the gifts and a small cake. All of the guests watched via Zoom.

Wow our dates were the exact same. My shower today was postponed. My wedding is June 20 and is postponed for August 7. But I honestly don't even think that's going to happen, I"m starting to consider postponing until next year.

I'm surprised she is keeping her June 20th date. Where is the wedding? Mine is here in Los Angeles where I live.

We are having a Virtual Shower on Zoom. Instead of just opening presents though we are reading advice and stories we have asked people to send us. And will play games. If people want to send gifts they have that option but we thought opening gifts on camera would be tacky. We have to "host" it ourselves due to the stay at home order. We sent out invites on Facebook and my MOH and bridesmaids have helped with the virtual planning.
