Covid-19 note with invitations?

Kristen, on March 18, 2020 at 1:27 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 10

Hello! Our wedding is May 22, 2020. For our area, all weddings until May 16th are being canceled.

Our invitations just came in with the RSVP date of April 22. I want to include a note with the invitations that tell guests to keep checking our website for information on if we are postponing, while understanding if they RSVP no.

Has anyone done this yet? Is there a script I can use? I am not the best with coming up with this haha

I love this post. Our wedding is on 5/23 and our invitations should be going out next week...I'd love to include some sort of insert as well. If I think of anything good, I will let you know! Where are you based and how are you feeling right now? Everyone is very quick to tell us that we "seriously" need to consider postponing, but as of now, our venue (in CT) is saying that they are hoping to have all May weddings as planned...it is an impossible situation. We are following their lead at this point (as well as the CDC). It's just in impossible situation. :-( Sending good vibes.

Are you thinking of doing an insert? It can be something as simple as:

During these times of uncertainty, we want to prioritize the health of loved ones above all else, and understand any and all inabilities to attend. Your safety, peace of mind, and well being are most important. Please keep an eye on our website as the date gets closer, in the case that postponing becomes necessary.

May 23rd here as well. I just finished filling invitations when all the restrictions started coming through... I'm sending them next week and I'm really hoping that everything goes according to plan.

    Covid-19 note with invitations? 1
Zola.com costumer service sent put an email with this script. Hope it helps. Unfortunately I have been forced to cancel my wedding which was set for May 30th due to COVID -19 my invitations came in the mail 3 days ago but cant even send them out since half of my guests and family are overseas. I dont want to get a lot of "no" so I think for me is better to cancel. I hope the script helps. Good luck & happy planning!!!

We are in Buffalo NY! I am not afraid to postpone. One way or another, we will get married and I am not willing to put anyone at risk.

Our venue has already expressed they will reschedule with no fees. Since our RSVP date is April 22, I think we will make a decision right before that, if needed!

I did have to cancel my bachelorette though. However, right now Airbnb will not refund.

Sending good vibes your way as well!

Totally agree! I like the idea of making the decision about a month out. Hopefully we'll have more information by then to make a more informed decision. I'm so sorry about your bachelorette...I'm in the same boat, same thing with my shower. We're hoping to celebrate eventually. :-) Take care, and stay safe!
