Covid-19 September Brides

Carlie, on June 30, 2020 at 1:57 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 10

Hello!

Here is yet another COVID-19 post... I am at a lost for my wedding. Our original date was April 17, 2020. Then we changed to June 27th, 2020 and that didn’t happen either. We now have September 13,2020 as our date however should I be considered about that date now?! The wedding is in PA, which luckily cases have gotten down. As many I have so many emotions and I don’t know how to feel or even what to do. What are other PA fall brides doing?!

    Hi,

I live in Buffalo and our wedding is supposed to be 9/26/2020. We have not rescheduled at the moment and cases in NY are going down but we are considering just doing an intimate ceremony and postponing the reception until next year. It is such a hard decision to make but we are worried we will not have the wedding of our dreams on 9/26/2020.

We are getting married 10/4/20 in Bucks County, PA. We postponed from 5/9/20, and do not plan to postpone again. We’ve had everything ready and paid for, and guests have made it clear they will still be attending (the most important people to us). Our venue has been monitoring the situation and have plans in place for the fall. They’ve reassured us our wedding is on, so we aren’t worried, just getting ready to send out invitations!

Hi Carlie! I think a lot depends right now on the size of your guest list, and if you're ok with potential social distancing measures at your wedding (which could be in place through 2021 for all we know)!

Also here are a few discussions I've seen from fall PA brides you can connect with:

    Hi,
My wedding was supposed to be 9/26/2020 , but due to covid we have postponed our dream day to 7/31/2021. We have decided to do a mini wedding, with close friends/ family and still get married 9.26.2020 ,but since my family is from Illinois and my loves from Arkansas we have to split the mini in 2 different states( because everyone is afraid to travel) 😤😖😳😢💔. So im exhausted! But we are covid brides👰 we will get through this in class queen 👸. Whatever you decide to do Covid Brides got ya back. ❤💖

We did a evite for the other times we postpone, it was cheaper and easier. We used the RSVP option to have them RSVP. Our venue said:

We don't have the guidelines set in stone. However, we are supposed to be able to have groups of 250 guests at the most inside with dancing. The guests will be required to wear masks when entering the building. We will be setting the room with tables of up to 10 guests, the tables will be 6ft apart. We will have specific employees dedicated to cleaning and sanitizing.
Our staff will be wearing masks and gloves.
We will have staff at the cocktail hour stations serving the guests. During cocktail hour the doors between the foyer and ballroom will have to remain open.
We're still getting some details together but we will be able to give you an awesome wedding and keep it pretty close to your original expectations.

We are taking the stance of “pandemic or not, we’re tying the knot.” Our wedding is 9/25 in Texas. We let all of our guests know that we understand each has a choice to make for themselves and whether they will come or not, and we respect their decision either way. But me and my man want to be married! So we’re doing it. All of our bridal party and immediate family are game. We pretty much have everything paid for, and who knows, 2021 may be worse! We could be postponing for years if we choose to postpone now. COVID brides definitely have a difficult road - choose what is the best for you and your man.

All of this sucks but if it’s next month you will likely have to cut the list and not have dancing. And obviously there is a risk of your wedding becoming a super spreader which obviously isn’t what anyone wants. Unfortunately I also ther with colleges going back there is it really risk for a major spike in cases (look at what’s happening in Alabama!) so restrictions may increase or the event may not be possible. I am really sorry you are stuck with this god awful decision. Maybe a minimoney this year with just close family and then a full party next year?
