I would postpone. I postponed my June 20 Ohio wedding. Unless your wedding has less than 50 guests it could still be possible, but unlikely ☹️

I don’t think the state is going to give you a choice.

Only you can make this decision, but I think you should postpone. We're in Michigan and our wedding was supposed to be June 6th but we postponed to next year. I figured that even if the stay at home orders were lifted by that time, the virus will still be going around and people will still be cautious (not come, not get too close to anyone, no hugs etc) so we wouldn't get the wedding we wanted and paid for. Also I would have rathered postpone and get to the date and laugh at how unnecessary it was, than get to the date and wish I had postponed. Sorry you're going through this Smiley sad

Fellow Ohio bride here! We postponed our June 13 wedding to September. We want to be able to have a reception with all 140 of our guests, and I don’t think the governor’s restrictions will allow that in June. Our venue was very kind about allowing us to hold out or postpone, but we ultimately decided to avoid the headache with other vendors (some have more strict deadlines) and just postpone. I think it’s unlikely Gov DeWine will allow large gatherings until later in the summer (and hopefully by then). If you have a smaller wedding planned, it might be okay to hold out, but otherwise I’d highly consider plan B.

    Hi Jasmine,

It's very proactive to start thinking about your options now! Based on the discussions I'm seeing, couples are doing MANY different things when it comes to Plan B. Here are some links to ongoing conversations:

    - Ideas in Place of a Reception

    - Ceremony now, party later

Or, here are some May brides who decided to postpone their weddings:

    - May Wedding Postponed.

    - Postponed our May wedding - the original post is about having a small ceremony in May and rescheduling for August

Lastly, WeddingWire has created resources that may be helpful as you navigate the planning process during this unprecedented time: Our COVID-19 Weddings Advice Guide.
