Covid and wedding shower

Andrea, on March 15, 2020 at 10:22 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
My wedding shower is this weekend 3-21-20. With everything closing down and the pressure of 'social distancing' should I cancel the shower??😰

I would say say it depends on who all is planning on coming to your shower and how far they are coming to get there. Are you near a hotspot of infections? If not and you don’t have a bunch of people then maybe look into shortening the shower if you are concerned about the time people are close to each other. Otherwise, with a smaller groups there is definitely less risk.

I am feeling the same concern. We have 0 cases in my county. No elderly attending. And we will be in a private room of a restaurant. We don’t intend to cancel unless we are made to but worried about being made to...

I definately wouldnt cancel if I were you! I'm stressing because all the schools in our county are closed and there have been confirmed cases.

All schools in our state are closed and we do have 31 cases statewide; however, most (for now) are centered around Washington DC. Which makes sense. I think almost all are linked to travel as well. That number has doubled since Thursday, though, which is why I’m nervous. Governor closed casinos and is prohibiting gatherings larger than 250 (which we are not close to for shower).

My shower was supposed to be 3/21 as well. I just postponed until 4/11. Hopefully a couple weeks of social distancing will help.

My wedding on 4/25 is still going to happen. With all this uncertainty, I don't want to postpone to later in the year and then postpone again or cancel altogether.

My shower is 3/21, wedding is 4/26. We decided not to cancel because it’s at my neighborhoods private clubhouse and people planned to travel from out of state for it. However, several people have changed their RSVP to no and only about half of the invitees replied :/ hopefully it turns out

I have the feeling I will be moving it to someone house unless they do a nationwide shut down. I am the same having people change rsvp which I get. But to do devastating that the happiest celebrations I have planned and look forward to for over a year our just crumbling
