Hey everyone,
So we never thought we'd be in this position as we got engaged and booked our wedding date back in 2019, but our wedding is scheduled for this coming July 31st and I'm starting to wonder whether to postpone, or at least make the guestlist super limited (like 30 max). For financial reasons mainly (so we don't have to cancel vendors/requirements at the last minute), but also because people invited will all be making arrangements (flights, trains, hotels etc) at the moment and could lose lots of money themselves if anything goes wrong COVID-wise.
It looked like we'd be out of the woods by July with all the restrictions being lifted on June 21st, however now there's talk of a third wave, new variants, etc. The government also seem to be leaning towards the idea of postponing the lifting of restrictions until everyone's vaccinated (which won't be till Autumn).
Even if the wedding's allowed to go ahead, little things like people having to wear masks in the hot summer while walking around, and being prohibited from dancing/drinking while standing, etc, make me think I'd rather just wait till we can relax and know nothing's going to be ruined.
What are other people doing about their wedding plans this summer? (Fwiw our ceremony's outside but everything else is indoors).
