covid Brides Race to the Altar

Where are my post pandemic summer brides???

We are gearing up for our wedding in July. World is opening up (thank goodness) and it’s looking like we’ll be able to have our big traditional wedding. First let me say, my heart goes out to all the brides who have had to make changes/compromises and stay “flexible”.
For those of us moving forward right now: Anyone else feeling anxiety x 1000?
The hotels have been impossible to respond, our venue manager still hasn’t set our menus, our priest quit the church (we have a back up now), suppliers are out of stock, and there’s a flower shortage?!?! 😅
In addition to the planning crazy, I’m trying to stay positive and focus on the good… but can’t help but be a little sad about the leading up to the big day memories that were never made. Solo wedding dress appointments, bridesmaids meeting over zoom, cramming parties into the last few weeks.
It’s been hard to “feel like a bride”. Anyone else?
For context. I’ve been in 13 weddings. I’ve been a loyal wedding shower attendee, destination bachelorette participant, hostess with the mostess for so so many girls…with things opening up these girls are making plans for personal vacations and seeing long overdue family, which I’m so happy they can do this, but they are missing my precious couple of things. Smiley sad
I think I’m just already having the post wedding blues since we’ve been trying to plan this wedding for 18 months.
Hang in there brides! Coming out of the pandemic is going to be another wild ride.
xoxo

I am all anxiety right now. Original date was 11/7/20, moved to 3/13/21 and is now on 11/13/21. Our restaurant cancelled in April, which left me scrambling to find a new venue. Since the restaurant was all-inclusive, I now have to find all the separate vendors. We opted for tacos and our backyard, but that meant cutting down the guestlist.

Now that places are opening up, we are considering the local community center, but that comes with even more fees we weren't counting on, but takes the headache of having 100 people in our backyard. I really do think I'll have a panic attack before we get to November. LOL

We legally married last year during Covid on our original date and our wedding celebration is next weekend. It feels a long time coming, and I'm really looking forward to having our day and then having the day behind us and not having to think about it anymore!
