We only postponed a few months, but we changed our venue/caterer (both venues included catering)! I'm really happy with our new venue, so COVID actually worked in our favor Smiley xd Everything else we had planned transferred over pretty seamlessly!

Sorry to hear that you had to postpone, but awesome that it ended up working out in your favor!! So much less stress when everything transfers easily too.

Everything for my husband and I will be completely different. The venue, the colors, the dress and suit, the vendors, the food literally everything lol. 2 completely different weddings.

Our original date was in April 2020. Now it's October 2021. I'm not changing my dress in any way, and my FH is renting the same original tux he'd planned on (just had his new fitting a couple weeks ago). We're keeping our original colors (navy blue and golden yellow) because they work just as well for fall as they would spring, although I'm thinking of maybe incorporating red and yellow accents to the flowers. Speaking of flowers, we were going to have tulips, but now we're switching those out for sunflowers.

We were originally February, now August. The only thing that really changed was me being forced to get a new dress and I ended up going with a different hamu artist. All of our original vendors transferred over pretty easily so that's a blessing.

Postponed from Sept 2020 to Aug 2021. Other than the date the only thing that changed was our event planning company. Only because the original event planning company didn't have our new date available. I used to plan events for work so I knew not to order things with dates on them, you learn that mistake once.

We just found out today that we will in all likelihood have to postpone - my seamstress needed to see me in person by the 15th of August for my dress to be ready in time, and they announced our current lockdown is to be extended until the 28th August - so no dress, even if we could go ahead, which doesn't look very likely anyway.

I am not sure what changes we will choose or have to make. Ideally, almost none. I also have no idea how long to postpone FOR - we booked our wedding 18 months in advance to avoid this very thing, and this lockdown has been really unexpected - our country and state were doing really well for a very long time before this. So, postponing a full year seems pointless - if we'd booked in June this year we would have been fine, for example. Feeling a little lost, to be honest.

I love that you're doing two totally different weddings! Such a cool way to celebrate them both. Looking forward to seeing the photos from your wedding (if you choose to post a BAM for it)!!

Very cool that you're keeping most of the details the same! The sunflowers will look gorgeous, and the red accents would be pretty too!

Awesome that all of your vendors transferred over without issue! That definitely takes a lot of stress out of having to postpone.

Smart that you didn't order items with the dates on them! Definitely a mistake only made once. Very cool that you're able to keep pretty much everything the same from the original date to the new date!

I'm so sorry that you have to postpone!! ☹️ it's certainly not fun. When we postponed from 2020 to 2022, we were absolutely bummed out, but it worked out for the best. Hopefully you'll be able to keep all your details the same. Totally understand on not knowing how to long to postpone for - it's unfortunately such a guessing game for everyone at this point. Have you talked with your vendors to get their thoughts on finding a new date that works for everyone?

We have! The first saturday our venue had was January next year, but the first date the majority of our vendors is available is February. Which sounded close, but then I realised it's actually another 6 months. I'm so tired of waiting!

Awesome that you found a new date that works for most of your vendors!! I know waiting it out isn't fun, and 6 months sounds like a long time, but it'll go by quick, and hopefully COVID restrictions won't be in place at that time. Plus, it'll give you more time to get the dress alterations done and anything else that got delayed due to the lockdown. Really hoping that conditions improve enough for the lockdown to be lifted soon!

Thanks. Hopefully it will! And we've waited this long, what's another six months in a lifetime, I guess?

Yea but still definitely stressing over the little things since we're right around the corner. We REALLY didn't want to have to postpone for a 2nd time. Especially since we're so close and our guests already made travel arrangements.

We had a Covid elopement on our original date last year and finally were able to have our wedding celebration this year. We kept all of our original vendors, although I did use a different florist for my bouquet last year because it was gifted to me by my coworkers.

For our wedding celebration, I styled my hair differently and bought a second dress (to change into during the reception), and my husband had a beard (as opposed to being clean shaven). I wish I had just stayed in my wedding ceremony dress the whole time, but otherwise was happy we mostly kept our original plans with some slight tweaks.
