Covid concerns in 2022

Rachel, on October 20, 2020 at 7:08 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
Are there any 2022 brides out there that are still mildly concerned about Covid still going on in 2022? I am usually a fairly positive and optimistic person but I will admit that in the midst of all of the exciting planning I’ve been doing lately, that’s still been a fear in the back of my mind. I know there’s no way to predict what things will look like by June of 2022, but I’m hoping for the best. I’m also concerned about some of my family being able to make it since they are from the UK. I am mostly venting here but it’s such a major bummer from time to time. ❤️

My wedding is now in July 2022 (we originally were supposed to get married July 2020), and while I'm mildly concerned, I'm trying not to focus too much on it. It's just too far away to really know what will happen between now and then. It is a bummer for sure, but we don't plan to postpone a second time. Continue to plan for your date in 2022, though also be aware of cancellation/postponement/COVID policies and if possible, choose vendors who are lenient.

I would say I am very optimistic for 2022. I don’t worry about it, I am just loosing my excitement waiting for so long 😞

I agree with you 100%. I don’t mind the prolonged engagement part so much but it’s still a bummer to think about the madness that’ll ensue next year because of so many postponed weddings. I’m keeping everything crossed that at least by then we won’t have nearly as much uncertainty as we are now, but you just don’t know 😞

Yes! I'm such a worry wart. I don't plan on putting in the money it would take to have a traditional wedding bc many of my loved ones say they dont feel comfortable being in large groups until one year after a COVID vaccine comes out.

Yep, same here! I try to look forward to it and be excited but it’s tough on some days. We’re also keeping our wedding small with 50 guests or less because of Covid, it’s crazy that we have to even do that but it’s better for everyone. 😞

I'm new here and its crazy how so many of us are getting married in the same month and year!! I'm concerned a little about covid as far as policies go because he def has a big family and mine not so much. So I def do worry about the guest cap but at the same time I don't worry as much because u can def invite 250ppl and 75 show up. As a personal worry wart I'm just not even trying to think about it. I'll worry about the policies of the venues I'm looking into and go from there. People are def going to move how they feel in the end anyway.. and I apologize if it's not the best advice but during these me being nonchalant is def keeping me sane.

I figure that anyone planning right now may as well have a mental (preferably written) backup plan. Until there are effective vaccines and treatments, we have to learn to live like this and accept it. I mean, who would have guessed that 7 months later we’d still be in this position (with things hardly improving, if at all)? This is unprecedented and the effects of this pandemic are SO extensive that the impact will remain for a while. Keep in mind that 2020 brides (especially Spring 2020) had no heads up. But 2021 and 2022 brides have lots of lead time. So, while continuing to be hopeful... also remember to be realistic and proactive. That way you can avoid last minute stress and scrambling.

Ours will be January of 2022 and we have no worries! Our vendors also seem very optimistic, but have also stated that if anything does happen, they are happy to accommodate! I am also just a little bummed that we're having a longer engagement, but if it means there's a greater chance for all our guests to come, then so be it!

I’m happy to hear that! I suppose it’s important to look at this whole thing through a realistic lens and just hope and assume that by 2022 we will have a better way of navigating this whole thing and more answers. That’s what I’m hoping for!
