Covid section in wedding ceremony program

Erika, on July 11, 2020 at 12:20 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 9

Hi! I am getting married July 17th in Ohio. Masks are now required here. I want everyone to be safe and abide by the rules. I was wondering if anyone put a covid section in their ceremony programs to remind people to wear masks and socially distance ? If you did, could you please pass along what you said? thank you!

Hi, I’m in Ohio too! I found an example from a Facebook Group called Wedding Support Disaster Group:Covid-19, you should join! It’s very supportive.

Here’s what I plan to put, I think I need proofreading though lol.
Due to Covid-19, we understand if you do not feel comfortable attending. We kindly ask that if you are experiencing any symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has the virus to refrain from attending. We will have a live ceremony broadcast on Facebook Live for those who cannot be in attendance. Proper precautions will be following local and CDC orders and guidelines; social distance at six feet; masked staff; hand sanitizer and masks provided to guests. For full details and updates, please visit www.zola.com/...... Any questions can be directed to Michelle at 614-.......We are thankful to have each of you in our lives and understand these are hard times for everyone. We hope to celebrate you far and near.

    Love,
    Names here

Ask note this is my insert for the invitation but feel free to use it as an example. I don’t think I’ll plan to remind people. Maybe have the DJ and wedding coordinator remind people if they’re not following. They’re pretty strict since apparently they get random check-ins from health officials. I am providing masks for guests.

I think Michelle's note is good as an invitation insert (or on your wedding website if you have one), and it would be a good idea to do that so people know what's going on before they RSVP, but it would be weird to put it in a program.
For the program, you could say something like:
In accordance with current state guidelines and in the interest of protecting the health of our friends and family, we ask that you wear a mask or face covering at all times during our wedding, unless you are eating or drinking. If you did not bring a face covering with you, [here's where you can find one].
