Covid "sequel" / vow renewal ceremony script help

Chelsea, on April 5, 2022 at 9:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

Hi everyone! My husband and I were originally scheduled to have our wedding in October 2020 but of course covid ruined those plans. We didnt want to wait to get married so we eloped on the beach just the two of us. We are now a few weeks away from finally having our wedding celebration with our friends and family (expecting about 105 guests) and we are having a hard time writing/rewriting our ceremony. Has anyone else struggled with this? How did you do the pronouncement? We dont want to overly emphasize covid and all the postponements but are also happy and proud of our marriage so far and dont want that to be diminished or pretend that we're not married or something with the wording (all of our friends and family know we are already married).

Thanks!

Hi Chelsea! I'd definitely work with your officiant on this!!

I went to a wedding last summer that was a postponed covid wedding / vow renewal as well and they updated the ceremony in really subtle ways! All it took was saying "do you promise to continue to..." instead of "do you promise to..."!! Smiley heart Smiley ring
