Covid test type?

Leslie, on June 6, 2021 at 4:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

For the couples who are requesting guests to take a covid test before their wedding - are you being specific in what covid test they should take and when they should take it, or are you leaving it up to the guest?

A little backstory: We are getting married at the end of August and initially required all of our guests to be fully vaccinated prior to attending our wedding, but now we are walking it back to vaccine preferred or take a covid test. I know the PCR test is more accurate but the turn around time to get results can vary, and the rapid test is quicker but might not be as accurate. I am wondering if other couples are leaving this decision up to the guests or if they are outlining which test they should take and when they should take it?

Our wedding is going to be on the smaller side (around 50-60) and it should only be around 10 people who are not planning on getting vaccinated and who I believe will be fine taking a covid test.

Thanks in advance!

I’m not getting married until next year, but if you’re going to ask for a test I would ask for the PCR. There are multiple places that can turn results around same day, so if you do some research you can give them a preferred list so they know what the turn around is.

Hi Leslie! I think what would be even more helpful for your guests is if you could list a few local places where they can get tested!

If you know somewhere that has PCR testing you can share that information on your website!
