Hi everyone! My postponed wedding date was set for May, 16, 2021. I am still extremely nervous about planning and moving forward with the wedding. But we do not want to cancel as we both really want to share our day with our family and friends safely. Is anyone else feeling anxious about wedding planning or do you guys think that the pandemic will be more under control by that time and you are planning as usual?

Hi Amanda!! It’s so hard to keep planning when there’s so much uncertainty. But we just ordered our invitations from Shutterfly because they offer a one time free reprint of an entire order due to the date needing to be changed due to covid. We opted to skip on save the dates. So at least we can still somewhat plan and notify our guests but not worry anymore about wasting extra money should we need to print them again. I initially was going to wait until Jan/Feb to order. I already know all my guests will not attend and I do not want a mask wedding. I will not jeopardize my loved ones health or safety either. So at this point, I just have to plan but hope that our venue will allow us to postpone again without loosing our deposits. I wish you the best of luck with your planning and i am here if you need to chat or vent as well!!! Take care!!!

Hi Kayla!! It sucks that we are all going through this. I’m in PA so we have strict restrictions as well. 🙁 Our ceremony is outdoors but the reception is indoors and I do not like the idea of wearing masks all day/ night, no dancing, mingling, etc. But we also do not want to cancel and loose all of our deposits either. If restrictions are still in place come Feb/March, we will most likely postpone the wedding again. I would nit feel comfortable moving forward. Best of luck to you with your planning. I’m here if you need to vent or want to chat.

Hi Kayla!! I am in PA and the restrictions are strict here too. My family would be traveling from CA, TX and WA and I do not see that happening come May. For the time being, we are continuing with planning as our venue will not allow us to postpone yet as it is still “too soon to tell”. I would feel more comfortable with postponing the wedding (it would be our second time postponing) as I do want all my guests, and my FH and I to be able to fully enjoy the day and actually celebrate with hugs, mingling and dancing safely. My FH is calm and taking it one day at a time. He is more optimistic about it and tells me not to worry about something I have no control over. So I guess we will continue to plan and see how things pan out in the next few months. Should restrictions still be in place, we will definitely postpone again. I wish you the best of luck. Take care!

Our wedding is May 22, 2021 and we recently changed our venue to a private estate where the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. This brought about a great deal of ease. I don't think we will be fully out of the woods, but perhaps things will look a lot different than what we are seeing now. We planned for an intimate wedding from the start (80-85 guests), so worst case, we will trim the list a bit more before we send out invitations. Perhaps this is something you can consider. I would definitely recommend moving forward with your planning. Smiley smile

Hi Felicia, congrats to you!! We have about 85-90 guests but I’m sure the response will be greatly less. I am moving forward with planning and will re-evaluate come February/ March. If numbers are still high and there are still some restrictions in place, we will see if the venue will let us postpone again. I really do not want a Covid wedding (masks, no dancing, etc.) We do not have the option to move the reception outdoors so it would have to be inside. I’d rather postpone to a later date when it’s safe. And I do not want to walk away from my deposits to find and book another venue. Let’s hope for the best! Best of luck with your planning!! ☺️

Hi Virginia, Sorry to hear that you had to postpone so many times! But I understand. A part of me really wants to get the wedding done and over with so it’s not lingering over my head anymore. But I also don’t want to cut my list anymore than it already is or have a wedding that I would regret because I gave up a lot of what a wedding should have (no masks = great pictures, dancing, hugging, etc.) let’s hope and pray for the best that things start to look up within the next few months. Good luck to you and congratulations!

Hi, I was there with you and moved forward. If something out of our control happens, we did everything we could. I'd continue planning and that is what we did. We have a vaccine now!

I just read this. I think you still will need masks and gel in May. Is it possible to embrace it? Maybe get cute masks for you and your wedding party?
