Cracked Makeup Wedding Trial

Laura, on August 4, 2021 at 11:36 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
Hi everyone! I just had my hair and makeup trial yesterday. I absolutely love my hair and makeup but 2 hours later the makeup under my eyes cracked severely making me look much older. I never have this issue when I do my makeup. I told the artist I had combination skin and we do live in Florida so lots of humidity. Has anyone had this issue before? Any suggestions? Is it rude to reach out to the makeup artist’s company? Thanks for the help!

You'll have to reach out to them so they know what you want! Communication is key!! Tell them that the under eye prep didn't hold up, and ask if they can try something else or maybe tell them what you do to give them an idea what works for that area.

    I agree with Melissa!

Definitely reach out and ask them to use something else.

If you really loved what she did otherwise, the other thing you could do is have a damp beauty blender in a ziplock bag plus some setting spray with your bridesmaids/emergency kit. Then towards the later part of the day you just pat over the cracks with the blender, spritz it again with the setting spray, and you should be back to looking ok.

This is the reason you do a trial. I'd definitely reach out and explain what happened and how you would like it to be done for the wedding so it doesn't happen on the big day.

It’s more about prepping your skin. Make sure you are moisturizing on wet skin. Sounds weird, but moisturizer will actually cling to the water on your skin better. Also a good under eye cream for extra moisture in that area and then a primer before foundation.

Another good trick is if your makeup cracks after some time, spritz on some setting spray like Mac Fix+ and dab it in with a damp beauty sponge.

Definitely reach out to them. I would also consider air brush makeup in Florida. That’s what I did and it lasted all day and night and we got married on the beach in Florida.
