Crazy Bride Demands?!

While listening to one of my favorite morning show they brought up this letter this bride sent to her bridesmaids, that was then posted on the knot. I just found it ridiculously hilarious!! I mean I get its YOUR wedding day, but seriously weigh ins?? Lmao! Are you putting any crazy demands? Or have you ever walked in a crazy bride's wedding before?

I would walk. Its unfair for anyone to ask this of their 'maids. The distinction between our BM's being our nearest and dearest vs. props comes up a lot. These brides want props, not friends.

Instead of subjecting your friends to all of this nonsense, rent a bunch of mannequins to style yourself. Life will be much easier for you.

This has to be a joke. No bride in her right mind would demand this of her BMs.

It was a joke; it says so at the bottom. I'm sure that it's not too far from the truth though......

My FSIL has a dress code for their guests. The only ones I can remember off the top of my head are 'No open toed shoes, bra straps must not be showing, women must not wear any sort of pants, beards must be trimmed to no more than one inch (We think this one is pointing at my FH who has quite the beard), nails must be filed to a rounded shape and must be manicured. These are for her guests. Not her BP. Her poor planner has to get the word out. There's a dress code portion on their website that says to contact so-and-so for details. God I'm glad they live on the other side of the country. FH is surprised I haven't full on snapped at her yet.

I see stories like this and it makes me sad. Sad because it's supposed to be a happy day you're planning for that should bring you joy. And sad because your bridesmaids are your closest friends (in theory) and why would you treat friends that way?

One of my BMs claimed that I had a "crazy bride demands" moment for telling everyone getting ready with me or sitting at the head table with us not to wear certain perfumes(I did provide a list) but I don't care. my allergies are horrible and I don't want to be a puffy eyed, red nosed, snotting everywhere bride.

Good luck with the dress code for guests. I suspect she's going to have a lot of declines if she's really serious about it.

I suggested to my sister that she looks so much prettier blonde (which is true) in hopes she would take the crayon red chunks out of her super light hair. But if she hadn't it wouldn't have been a big deal. She ended up dying it anyway then chopping about 8 inches off! It's so cute now

Nicole I understand allergies! The line that got me the most is about tattoos. I have huge award winning tattoos that are part of me. If it bothers you I don't need to stand up in the wedding.

I was MOH for one of my bff's from hs a few years back. The bridal party dresses cost more then her dress! Then she wanted us to buy a pill box hat. I made one for the occasion. It turned out fabulous. I ended up the only one with one... Lol

Holy hell Alexis! Are you serious? No one has told her this is totally out of line? I probably would not attend, on principle alone! That's so offensive and ridiculous. Someone sound inform her that's she's hosting a party, but running a boarding school.

FH said we have no choice. No one likes her, but he's finally getting along really well with his brother so I don't want to f that up. Did I mention they're paying over $50k for a social wedding? In her words, "We don't really care if people don't dance. We just want people to mingle and talk to each other." I'm just happy there will be booze.

Wow. That's horrible. I would probably show up dressed as crazy as I could manage and photobomb everyone.

@Care Bear I guess is when people are supposed to mingle with each other instead of dance and party. There will be no DJ. Only a small orchestra to play background music during dinner and the reception. I think she made up the "social wedding" part to make herself sound like it's a high class event lol.

@Alexis - that is insane. Down to how the nails are trimmed and filed? My goodness, how does she plan to control this? "Sorry Mom, your nails are almond shaped and I CLEARLY said rounded, so you can't attend".

I would be SO tempted by buy the the most frumpy dress I could find. Think floral drape material, puffy sleeves, big lacing around the neck, possibly a bow too... Oh, then you could top it off with those little white socks with frills around the top (like we had as young kids) and mary jane shoes.

    WOW.

@Alexis - That wedding dress code sounds stricter than the one for Disneyland employees! I think I would have to be busy that day if I got invited to that wedding.
