Are there any TRULY create-your-own wedding album websites? I chose not to go through my photographer because it would be extremely expensive (I don't mind upwards of a few hundred dollars... but I didn't want to pay $900 ) AND I want to have control over what the design/layout looks like. I know I want five photos on one page and set up a certain way, then I know I want one or two photos on the next page, etc. I saw Somerset Albums, but I want a photo cover and they didn't appear to offer that. I found Bride Box for albums and saw you can "customize" your layout/design, so I was excited to use that, but then when I went to design it/change photo box sizes, I couldn't modify it as much as it originally seemed (I could change the page layout from their options, but then couldn't modify within that). I read about Bay Photo in another post and I'm looking into that now. I don't want to use Snapfish or Shutterfly; I want thick pages, professional quality but with MY design/layout! HELP!

I am around, VC!! Lol. This (OP) was from my non-married-person account (before I became a photographer). I usually post under Rachel Langerhans Photography now Smiley smile

I am so happy I used Nations Photo Lab (and so thankful to annakay for suggesting it!) - I LOVE my wedding and engagement albums that I designed. I use it for all my client albums now. Beautiful quality, thick pages, great layout and cover options.

Here is a Facebook link (should be viewable even to those without Facebook - I'll leave it as a public album for a day or so) to view the pages I designed for my wedding album from Nations Photo lab (photos taken by Julie Napear Photography; album designed by me):

ETA: You can do full (two-page) spreads, but I chose not to do any; I only did one-page spreads. Even though the pages do lay flat, I still don't like the slight sight of a line through the middle of a photo. Just my personal preference.

Also how thick are the actual pages? I assume the photo pages are mounted on a board as well.

This is the album I ordered for our wedding album (infinity album >> acrylic cover): http://www.nationsphotolab.com/albums_acrylic.aspx

I don't remember exactly how thick the pages are, probably about 1/8 inch. I can check when I get home this afternoon if you'd like. They are thick/board pages.

To any looking for a professional looking, DIY, flush mount wedding album site... I have been doing extensive research on these darn things, LOL. As far as top quality goes in this category, so far my suggestions are to look into- Artifact Uprising, Milk Books, Albums Remembered, Adorama Pix - Hudson Album, Bay Photo Pacific Albums, and Zno. They just have really nice page thickness, seams, photo quality, binding, gilded and rounded page edging offerings. A little lower quality, but still quite good consider MyBridalPix, Bridebox, and Picaboo and definitely Nations Photo Lab.

Let us know what you decide on and why.
