Creative alternatives to tented wedding

Zoe, on May 16, 2022 at 9:35 PM Posted in Planning 3 3

Hello lovely people. My wedding is June 18 this year, so about 4 weeks out (yay!) Unfortunately, our rental company had some crazy company issues and the gist of it is that they are completely canceling and refunding us. This is where we were sourcing the tent (for 130 guests), chairs, tables, portable bar, and lighting. Obviously it's a big deal but I'm trying to stay calm and think of creative solutions. I found out after business hours, so I'll be calling other rental companies tomorrow, but I'm not feeling super hopeful that there's someone out there with everything we need this close to the date. The plan was to have the ceremony and reception at fiance's parents property (2acres). Would still love to do that of course, but open to the possibilities. The weather can change quickly here so we really need to have some coverage option. Perhaps this is some kind of blessing in disguise and some amazing opportunity will come out of it. If anyone has any advice to offer please send it my way! I am in the Teton Valley area of Idaho, in case anyone wants to do some sleuthing with me. Best wishes to all!

Good luck with other rental companies! If you can't find any available, maybe a local park will let you rent a tent/s from them. Or maybe you could buy a tent from Lowe's.

Wishing you ALL the luck finding something else! As for the bar, you could try to find tubs/ coolers and buy wine, beer, waters, and maybe a few types of pop in bulk. Maybe a local grocery store or someplace would be able to advise were you could get a bunch of ice on the day of.

Also check with local churches for tables and chairs. I know mine back in my hometown, lets people rent their older ones for a donation (aka free).
