Creative placecards to indicate meal choice

Lindsay, on August 26, 2017 at 10:36 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

We're having plated meals at the reception, so obviously we need to be able to indicate to the servers which guest selected which meal. I hate the idea of having a colored dot or something like that - I had originally planned to do the window pane with names and table #s listed, but as we're doing plated that had to change. Any ideas or advice? Our colors are navy and grey/silver. Thanks for any advice!

How many meal choices are there? Could they have borders? Some navy, some grey?

I personally think it's really cute when people have a little cow for steak, chicken for chicken (obviously), etc.

ETA- I guess this actually falls under the whole "colored dot" category. Sorry to be unhelpful! I just think it's cute :-)

Im designating a color from the wedding as each meal choice. White is fish, gold is chicken, peach is beef, and green is vegan. Each name card will be one of these colors with all writing in black. So it sticks with the color scheme and is easily identifiable.

I just wrote the meal choice under the persons name because that was easier to do and keep it alphabetized. I was not happy I had to do this. My venue would not ask the person what they ordered as have other venues I have been to. Like I needed another chore...

Saved me time rather then switching card colors.

We're putting leaves on ours but color coordinating them. So an orange leaf is chicken, red is salmon, etc. The staff will know, but it's pretty covert.
