Creative small ceremony ideas?

Erin , on May 18, 2018 at 5:29 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
I don't have very many people to invite to my wedding and I'm wondering if anyone has creative ideas for a small ceremony. I'm becoming more and more disinclined to rent a tent and chairs if there's no one to fill them. TIA.

What is your ceremony space like? I assume it is outdoors?

You should rent as many chairs as you need for as many guests that will be in attendance.

If rain and/or extreme heat/cold are possible I would rent a tent too, even for a smaller number of guests. Their comfort is still important!

Hi Erin! Welcome to the WeddingWire Community! Smiley ring I recommend first getting an accurate headcount of how many people will actually be attending; this will help you decide the quantity of what to include. Also, there are a ton of creative ideas to design a small ceremony. I would begin thinking of a color combination, as this typically aligns with a theme. For instance, since you're having a summer wedding, you could go for something tropical or rustic; the choice is up to whatever you like!

Use our Color Generator to help select potential colors.

Erin, a small ceremony can be amazing! There are several brides here who have posted some incredible photos of their intimate celebrations. My DH & I had Pirates of the Caribbean wedding in Napa (reception in a wine cave) with just 15 guests. There are beautiful courthouses, beaches or parks for a small gathering and a nice restaurant might not even need much decor for a small reception.

    1) How many guests?

    2) What kind of wedding: beach, boho, classic, fairytale, themed?

    3) Budget?

I'm interested in your answers to the questions above, but also have a few ideas (we're having 47 people at our ceremony) which I considered small. But if you're doing less than that, I've seen an idea where the chairs are in a circle or semi-circle to make it really intimate. You could also have everyone read the line in a poem.
