Creative thoughtful gift for bride from bridesmaid?

Yvonne , on July 27, 2017 at 12:41 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

This year not only am I a bride but also a bridesmaid to my bridesmaid lol if that makes sense. We're both getting married and both in each others weddings. Which has been awesome for venting and support. I'd consider us both pretty creative but I'm stumped on what to get them as their wedding gift. I've already made photobooks of our friendship, travel, personalized mugs, shirts etc. What can I get them that's unique? Any ideas? To give you an example of things I do .... I made a private instagram for my groom, documenting our journey from the day we got engaged til the day we get married. The good, the bad, the sweet etc that will be given to him on our honeymoon ( from the brides perspective) I call it Bridezilla Chronicles. Cash is king, I know.. but looking for something out of the box. Update... I left that out lol I wasn't trying to be selfish.. interests include anything DIY, and dancing (salsa) and shoes but she has over 120 pairs even personalized ones for wedding and HM :

What are her interests? What about a gift for both of them to use/do on the honeymoon?

Bridezilla Chronicles for your groom - that's so romantic!

As far as your BM is concerned, you could start with what SHE is interested in as opposed to what interests you. She's one of your closest friends. What sort of things does she like? What are her interests?

Agreed with PP. In a previous wedding I was in, we gave the bride a gift certificate for a massage before the wedding. She LOVED. I'm a fan of letters to the bride to read the morning of.

That's a good idea. Once I know more about where they're are lodging maybe I can get them something there. Her interests are dancing and diy. Really that's most of her focus.

These were both shower gifts rather than wedding gifts, but for a close friend i did a "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence for your shoe" gift where i put together a bunch of gifts that fell into those categories (plus an actual sixpence i ordered off the internet!). for another wedding, i did a wine gift basket with custom labels for different occasions (first anniversary, first baby, first christmas as married couple, etc.).

I'd probably ask about the something old, etc. before doing it. We also did that for the bride I was talking about, but we knew no one else (including the bride) was doing that. I have very specific things picked out and wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings by not using them.

You all gave me great ideas. I think I can combine some of these and make a basket. Including a massage to use during the honeymoon, engraving the couples favorite liquor bottle, as well as a letter/card to them both .. maybe I can find one of those star maps. I can map out how the stars aligned exactly the day they met and print it on a 5x7. Ok, I'm super excited. Thanks @constance @ella @gymrat @FutureMrs.Lachney

Maybe write her a long letter or get the lyrics of her favorite salsa songs (personalize them) and then draw with the words a picture of her and FH dancing. It is easily done with photoshop.

My husband gave me a sketch of my wedding dress and his suit. It is my new gift that I have been giving for showers and wedding gifts to my girlfriends. They have all turned out so great. This year was my year that 3 friends got married. Eeek!!! I have been using http://mydreamlines.com/ Smiley heart
