Cricut envelopes

I almost didn't use my cricut to address envelopes from all the troubles I read about it. But I just started and they are coming out so easy! Just wanted to share a tip if you're using the cricut pens, to make a little scribble on scrap paper between envelopes so make sure the pen isn't running out....

Just wanted to share a tip if you're using the cricut pens, to make a little scribble on scrap paper between envelopes so make sure the pen isn't running out. My pen started to fade in and out with use, but it stopped when I did a little writing on scrap paper.

This is this they are coming! This is the gold glitter pen 0.8 for reference.

You insert a square shape, hit the unlock button so you can change the dimensions to that of your envelope. This is already set to cut.

Then you add your font, on the right side where your layers are, it usually shows a picture of scissors next to the font. If you click that you can change it to the picture that looks like a pen. That's how you get it to not cut and write instead. once you line it up on your rectangle select it all and hit attach.

When your machine is done writing, I hit pause on the machine or else it will cut the envelope. But I also took the blade out so In case I forgot or anything, it couldn't cut anyways

Actually a quick and easy trick here is, and when someone told me I felt like an idiot, take out the blade. Just pop it out and the machine will run through the motion but not do anything to the envelope Smiley laugh

Wow! This is exactly what I needed to know how to do! I have 3 days this week to address 50 envelopes, and if I did it this way, they would look so much nicer!

Christine, the OP, I love your gold writing! Thank you so much for sharing how this is working out for you.

The color type you've used and the format with the zip on a separate line will probably slow down the delivery process or lead to lost mail. How do I know? Been there, done that. Smiley smile

Thanks for the info, I'll stop by the post office and have them double check if it will cause an issue. Also, at least half will be handed out instead of mailed because it's mostly immediate family and people who work or live together (small town)
