Cricut-is it worth it?

I have been thinking in investing in a Cricut for my DIY projects for Save the Dates, invites, place cards, gifts, etc. I like crafting, but I'm not necessarily the best at it, so my questions are: 1.) I have been thinking in investing in a Cricut for my DIY projects for Save the Dates, invites, place cards, gifts, etc. I like crafting, but I'm not necessarily the best at it, so my questions are:

1.) What is the learning curve on using this?

2.) How much time does it take to make a single set of letters (for example, the time it takes to cut letters for place cards?)

3.) Did you save money using this? As in enough money to offset the cost of buying it?

4.) Would you use it again for other crafts/ projects?

5.) Was it fun and worth it for you?

Thank you in advance for your advice!

I bought one for the wedding, because I am a designer and I already loooove to DIY things. Because of this, the learning curve wasn't too bad (although the software was frustrating compared to what I'm used to). It was important to me that my invitations were handmade and one-of-a-kind, so it's all about what matters to you. I didn't do it to save money.

I did my invite sleeves last weekend. It took two pretty full days to cut them all out, but in the end it was sooo worth it to me.

@SLR - I always use illustrator then upload to the design space. So much easier.

My two FSILs used one for a lot of their wedding decor, they both recommended it to me but I'm not super crafty so I plan on enticing them with bottles of wine to help me with my DIY decor!

@Constance Me too! But I still hate the design space haha. It doesn't like my wacom tablet.

Unless you craft regularly, no the cost is not worth it.

You can buy very nice STD and invites on sites like Vista print for less than $.50/piece.
