Con: freaking expensive to get the machine and the tools just to start (expect to pay $350-$400)

    Pros:

-my DIY life has become so much easier

-joanns has a bundle deal right now online and in store. I believe it's about $260. They're usually at the counter, ask a rep

-it can cut SO many materials, including thinner wood

    -FREE designs to use

-handwriting! It does it for you!!

    -easy to use

-tutorials and tips up the wazoo

Here's a picture of cards my mom made right after learning to use the machine. Literally super simple to use and they look like she spent weeks on these things!

We bought one! ... then sold it a few weeks later on craigslist lol. Not our thing, they seem to have a lot of little problems.

I'm a Silhouette Cameo die-hard and I think it's worth it, but I use it year round to make and sell stuff unrelated to my wedding. It's made me well over $20k in the last 3 years just from selling during Christmas and then a signifiant amount well before that!

If you get it, it would be way more worth it if you utilized it after your wedding too.

This is all the stuff I've done for my wedding so far!

I just bought a new one. FYI, you don't HAVE to buy cartridges for the Cricut. I don't use them. I would say it's worth it if you plan on using it outside of the wedding. I make vinyl labels for cups and design stuff for household items with it. I'm not very experienced yet, but it's definitely a neat item to have in my opinion Smiley smile. I'm using it for multiple items for the wedding. table numbers, card box, and welcome sign are just a few examples. I'm hoping to learn more, but I'm having a hard time finding the time to do that right now.

Cricut does not necessarily require cartridges! I've never used a cartridge with my Cricut. I have design space and a Cricut access membership (like $9/mo) and usually you get a free month when you purchase your machine. I make all of my designs in design space with no cartridges and I love it. I've made soooo much for my wedding. If you're crafty it's worth it, keep in mind though that it does require a bit of learning.

I love mine and it has helped me cut so many costs for little things like making the bridal party gifts, making our guest book, etc. But definitely consider how much you'll use it for non wedding things. That's what will make it worth the money. I actually sell stuff with it so it's worth it for me

The cricut doesn't use the physical cartridges like they used to anymore, but they still refer to the images as cartridges.

Oh yeah, I'm having so much fun with mine! It for sure takes time but It's already paid for itself with making my own things I could buy on etsy for 10x as much.

Bridal party wine glasses, my pocket envelopes for my invitations (It takes about 15 minutes from start to finish for each pocket envelope), I'll be using gold and white vinyl for all my wedding signs (on mirror or glass) and when it gets closer I'll make everyone in my BP shirts!

I've also made my mom, grandma and FMIL mothers day gifts a shadow box with paper flowers cut from the circut. Totally love it. Plus I can make shirts whenever I want for less than $4!

Wow!! Awesome feedback. Thank you so much! Now I'm thinking I'll definitely make the purchase. But now it's Silhouette Cameo or Cricut Air!!!

Can anyone tell me if there is a big difference in price for the supplies? The vinyl, mats, iron on, pens etc is what I'm most interested in.

    Thanks again everyone!

Buy from a 3rd party for vinyl... doesn't matter which machine you buy it uses the same- I use oracle 651 and usually get it for 25cents a 12x12 sheet, Amazon has big rolls though but I don't use that much Smiley smile
