Cricut machine..

Does anyone have one and used it for wedding stuff? My friend offered to let me borrow hers but I don't really know much about it. She said her brother made all his invitations using one which would be awesome but I want to make sure they don't look "cheap".

Ugh I lost sleep contemplating buying a Cricut last night. I love making greeting cards already and and and I want this in my life!

*renames one online savings account/holding tank to "cricut"*

I looked at both the cricut air and the silhouette. Both are great, but without experience the cricut air is easier to use. Watch youtube videos on both of them, that helped me make my decision. I bought one about a month before my wedding, and accomplished so much. I wish I would've bought it months earlier, and had time to actually learn how to use it. I made my table numbers, cut the vinyl for my signs (nothing fancy, but it sure beat my handwriting), used it for our card box, and I cut out vinyl to make vases for my centerpieces. This isn't the best picture, only the head table ones had the flowers, and we added floating candles to them for the reception.

@2yearsaway Connect with me and I can always help! I highly suggest searching for facebook groups such as Cricut Design Space and Let's Learn Cricut Explore. Also, pinterest and google are great for free files, inspiration and ideas! I run my own Cricut group but it's for Canadians onllllly Smiley sad

Thank you @Goose. The tree was from our invitations, and I really wanted to etch the glass with the design, but the lines were to small. They looked really pretty at the reception.

So FH bought me a cricut and I have yet to learn how to use it. It's just super complicated (or I'm just not able to figure out the easy way to use it.) I still plan on using it to make my invitations because I've spent a good bit of money between the machine and the materials, but it's going to take a while to figure it out. If you have access to the machine for free, it doesn't hurt to play around with it.

Geez! I own one and have never used it! Guess I should pull out the owner's manual and figure out how to do stuff for the wedding instead of buying them. I bought it for scrapbooking, but since I went back to school three years ago, I haven't had time. (Face palm & so embarrassed)

Yes! I love my explore!!!! I use it all the time! I don't have any pictures of what I've made on this computer but it's amazing! If you look up youtube videos by Melody Lane, she's like the cricut whisperer.

I sold my Cricut and bought a basic Silhouette Portrait and it is 1000% better than my Cricut ever was. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.
