Cricut to address envelopes

Sagan, on January 4, 2017 at 5:47 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 8

I bought a cricut machine a few months ago, and I admit I've struggled with it a little bit. (I welcome any tips on working with vinyl and creating fun projects!)

The one thing I've been able to accomplish with it pretty consistently is writing. Has anyone used their cricut to address envelopes? Is this more trouble than it's worth? I appreciate your feedback!

By the time you get it set up, type in all of the addresses, get the envelopes placed correctly, will this save time? I haven't done anything with a fine point pen, so I'm not sure how the spacing would look for that. Maybe just the return address since you won't have to go in and type up all of the new addresses after you print one batch

I tried to do my STD with it but the space was too small. Kind of agree with Blair, not really sure if it'd save time. I was just going to because I was worried about my handwriting being awful.

    ETA- autocorrect

I'm not sure about the cricut but I used the Avery website and typed in all our addresses and just printed the labels on their label sheets that I got 300 labels for $4. I made it pretty by using a nice font and I'm really pleased with how they turned out!

I found a font I liked and printed the envelopes I needed to print. I know you're excited about having the cricut - but maybe the simple answer of a printer would be faster/easier?

For what it's worth - I would be excited to have one too!

Im an crazy cricut user, I literally use it 20 times a week. That being said, I originally planned to write the addresses on it but the time per envelope was just a pain. It took about 3 minutes to write each envelope and about 5 seconds to just print it. And theres the issue of envelopes sticking to the mat, some envelopes are made to adhere to glue ( hence the licking and closing ) so I noticed some envelopes would come uo sort of ripped because they stuck to the mat

I am going to try and use my Cricut to address the envelopes already sealed.... maybe doing it on the light grip mat (purple) will work better *fingers crossed*

I was planning on using my Cricut machine to address my envelopes (terrible handwriting) and I did not think about the mat and how sticky some were!! I am so glad I read your comment to use the purple mat!!
