Cruise honeymoon vs. all inclusive

Stephanie, on January 30, 2018 at 9:48 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 14
I need pros and cons of a cruise honeymoon or an all inclusive resort. My FH and I LOVE cruises so a cruise would be great. However, we love them so much I'm sure, especially when we have kids, cruise vacays will be the go to vacation in our marriage. Should we try something different for our honeymoon? I feel like honeymoons should be a little more epic or like not something you do all the time. Also, FH is worried he'll get bored at an all inclusive and I've never been to one so can someone tell me what it's like? FH loves cruises because you can wake up in a different place everyday. Thanks in advance! Wherever we go will be amazing, I'm just not good at making decisions!

Following.. We’re trying to decide too! We love cruises but we were also thinking of maybe doing an all-inclusive instead.

I like the all inclusive. We love the beach and don't want to feel rushed to get back to the boat. If you like activities/excursions then the cruise is a great option.

Like you mentioned cruises are nice because you get to explore new places in the span of however many days. But all inclusive is just as great! If you like to explore the area you’re staying you can, obviously endless eating and drinking WITH a beach and usually they something going on most nights at the all inclusive resorts. Plus they offer excursions as well you just have to speak to the activities director or front desk to schedule it!

Maybe go on a more luxurious cruise line and go to a destination that you wouldn't really go to with kids?

Thanks for the input! Has anyone had experience with staying at an all inclusive that has a sister resort on the island and going back and forth between them? I've heard if they have sister resorts you can get into all of them.

Oh definitely. We have been on Carnival but would go on Royal Caribbean and get a suite or a balcony. We'd make it special. The kids thing is concerning because it'd be late July when everyone in the South is trying to take one last vacay before kids head back to school.

You are not locked in when you stay at an all-inclusive. Many are near communities where you can do lots of exploring- more than just the few hours you get in port when on a cruise. You can rent a car or use local transportation to go anywhere you want, to do whatever you want- go swimming in a cenote in Mexico, explore the local shops and restaurants, go to an art walk, go hiking or water skiing, etc etc etc.

In August I went to Punta Cana, DR and it was all inclusive. Very beautiful and it has 3 sister resorts where we were able to dine, use their pools, drink etc. The resort was called Grand palladium spa resort and casino.

i would suggest doing an all inclusive trip than a cruise. I’ve done both and I fell in love with all inclusive resorts

I have been on three cruises and was so close to booking another for our honeymoon but we decided to go with an all inclusive resort to Cancun. So, you are getting married in July and right now you do not have kids right...well get ready for there to be PLENTY of kids on a cruise in July. Oh, I would not do a cruise in July because it will be packed to the max and tons of kiddies lol. I would suggest an adult all inclusive resort. Lots of island resorts offer excursions where you can visit another city that's within driving distance. For example, I have already looked at excursions for Cancun and we can do a day excursion to Cozumel for cheap, which I plan on us doing to get away from the resort for a day. Plus with all inclusive that usually includes all alcohol and if you are both drinkers its a good deal because cruise drink packages are expensive. My vote, adult all inclusive resort! Check out Expedia and people on here say a lot CheapCaribbean.com for islands and deals.

I just wanted to update everyone that we booked our cruise last night! 7 days aboard Allure of the Seas. We are sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale and going to Nassau, Costa Maya, Roatan, and Cozumel! I thought about it and I'm so excited to travel to multiple places on the honeymoon! And the practical side of me is excited to save money to buy a house sometime after we get married! Thanks for all ya'lls input!

I was having this dilemma when planning my honey moon. I have since decided to go with the cruise because its multiple destinations and much more affordable.
