Cruise Wedding Favors

Kelly, on April 9, 2018 at 4:04 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4
I’ve been going back and forth with all sorts of favors for our wedding (if any at all). A little background:
1. We’re getting married aboard the Carnival Victory on the 3rd day of the cruise
2. 40 guests right now, could go up to around 50 (everyone is sailing on the cruise with us)
3. There are restrictions for things carried on board, so no candles, personalized matches, small bottles of liquor, handmade food like cookies, etc.

I think welcome bags would be a nice gesture, but I’m sure 95% of anything we put in won’t be used. I get worried that anything personalized with our names/date (reusable plastic cups, koozies, or sunglasses) would get thrown away or go unused after the cruise. Should we keep it simple and do some candies in a small bag or just forget favors all together? If we went with something like the cups or sunglasses, would it be weird if we gave it out the day we get on cruise so people actually use them, or wait until the actual reception 2 days later? Thanks everyone for the opinions Smiley smile

Personalized welcome lanyards maybe with a card with your schedule (if you have any) already attatched? It would be a way to make sure guests recognize other wedding guests from regular cruiser. I did a theme cruise that was within a regular cruise and we had that.

Hi fellow Carnival Victory Bride!! ( I am getting married in port in Key West though!)

I have gone back and forth about whether or not to do a welcome bag that would also coincide with a favor. My thought was to have a letter thanking them for joining and giving a layout of the time lines etc. I agree with you when you say you think that 95% of the stuff wouldn't be used so I think I have decided to just forgo it altogether. I was leaning towards a water bottle and lanyard since I felt having both really helped the cruise experience. If you do decide on a favor I think its fine to give it the first day of the cruise.

Yeah the lanyard was something I never thought of, but it would make the most sense for the duration of the cruise. I’ve read things where people make bags full of sunscreen, aloe, sunglasses, etc. and I just know that it’ll go to waste. Maybe I can put a little note to our guests with the lanyard that tells them our room number and that we have extra sunscreen or aloe in case anyone forget an essential item. That way, we’re not wasting money on a ton, just have some extra in case one or two people forgot.
