Cruise Wedding Welcome Bags

Kelly, on January 26, 2018 at 1:06 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4
My fiancé and I are doing a cruise wedding with all our guests coming along for the trip. I want to create a welcome bag for each guest, but don’t want to be too cheesy with what I put it in. Any suggestions from people that have done cruise weddings? Food is readily available 24 hours, so the usual snacks and water bottles probably wouldn’t be as exciting to our guests. Also, do we include our wedding favor (we’re having little stemless wine glasses with an anchor and our names/date made) in the welcome bag, or is there a way to set up a little area during the reception for people to grab that? Thanks Smiley smile

I would upgrade your reception instead of having welcome bags. Guests will appreciate that more. Upgrade to a better liquor package, offer a special entree, opt for a dessert buffet or late night snack, etc. I'd put your wedding favors out at the reception since they are related to that. However, with the glasses, I'd be worried that some guests may not take them (or that they will be hard to pack/travel home with). Could you opt for an edible favor instead or skip them completely since favors are completely optional?

Stole the words from my mouth Smiley tongue

OP, you should really be worried about hosting your guests for the reception (are you even having a real reception? or just the cocktail hour?)

That being said, we got married at a beach resort so I got little beach bags from the dollar store and then put in a welcome note with itinerary, a fan, a deck of cards, chips, trail mix, candy, chapstick personalized with our names/wedding location, a small sunscreen, waters, and cookies that were UMD themed (either the logo or Testudo) that my MIL got (both H and I went to UMD).

The deck of cards went over really well and so did the fans.

Yeah that’s very true. I’m so used to weddings having favors or you can take home the centerpieces, but it is different for a cruise. Carrying all those glasses onto the ship (at least 30) will surely be a pain. And when you think about, how many people will actually use a glass with our names on it after the wedding. Maybe we’ll do a bottle of wine delivered to each room or
    something of that nature.

Excellent, glad I could help. I think having wine delivered to each room is a much better idea.
