cupcake stands?

Shannon, on April 28, 2011 at 11:04 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 16

So we are doing cupcakes instead of a cake.. but i am haveing trouble with cupcake stands any ideas what to do with that? i am considering having my dad build something that will look like a tiered wedding cake to place them on. meaning when the cupcakes are gone. but i would before not to do that cause that means i would have to paint it.

any ideas on what to do with cupcakes? do you make a design with it on the table? or do you get stand for it?

How many cupcakes are you having? we have 160 so my dad and FFIL are building us 3 stands. if you only have a small amount, it might look cool to set them out in a table in a cool pattern

We are doing 3 stands, 2 of them the same size holding 60 cupcakes each, and the middle one holding 30 cupcakes and out cake cutting cake at the top with our cake toppers on it.

What about something like this? No painting involved!

You can always make one stand, and have someone put out more cupcakes as people eat them so the stand is always full. It would save money and you would only have to paint/decorate one

Check out thecupcaketower.com if you're looking for a good, sturdy one. Otherwise, you can buy cardboard ones of similar shape for relatively cheap.

I work @ a cupcake shop, and I love it when people put them out on cake stands. I think it looks super cute. You can do different heights and colors too if you want Smiley smile Don't be afraid to get creative! Cupcakes are so fun!

I'd buy a nice cake stand and use that. You can also put some on the table, and use the top tier for the cutting cake.

I had looked at some when we were considering cupcakes, some of those stands are pricey!! definitely check ebay. they had a good selection at reasonable prices.

I ordered mine from cupcaketree.com and I decorated it so it would look like a traditional cake from a distance.

My FH built ours, I'll post a picture of it later. I wanted to have cupcakes, but still resemble a wedding cake.

We're renting! cupcake stands for 180 cupcakes are 30-40 and can be picked up the day before and dropped off the day after. It's a GREAT bargain if you want to avoid paying a lot for something you won't use anymore. If you only have a few dozen, you could do a cake stand, though, for a small amount off of amazon or ebay

I think you should definitely go for a round shaped tiered-cupcake stand. You can place the big one, for cake cut, at the very top and the cupcakes on the lower layers. It will give a tiered cake look.

I'll share my inspiration picture with you Smiley smile We're more than likely going to use a different fabric, and carnations or something more sturdy for the flowers. I love the cupcake idea, too, but my mom is demanding something small to cut lol

You can make the stands out of candle sticks and plates, or with tea cups
