Amber, on October 24, 2011 at 9:27 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21

Soooo.......I'm thinking about having my bridal party enter the reception to the cupid shuffle. Opinions?! But my whole party has to learn it (haha) but i think it wld be really cool. I'm still in the early stages of trying to figure out how I can make this work w them entering in do the shuffle but the DJ also introducing them....lol!! I think my party is gonna have to hear the steps to move to BAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry i just think it's funny bcuz i'm imagining some of the groomsmen doing the cupid shuffle!! lmao!

Cupid Shuffle is DEFINITELY on our playlist for the reception. My party is a bit more timid than to do something like this however. It's not really hard, it's explained in the song itself so unless you reaaaaallly have some guys with two left feet it can be done!

I'm actually in a wedding in a few weeks and they picked the cupid shuffle. Not sure how this is going to work...but once we all get into the reception we are finishing off the dance as a group.

Then they are going to play it again later in the night.

I personally don't like the idea, but since it's not my wedding, I am not saying anything.

What I like about the Cupid shuffle is that it never fails to get everyone on the dance floor. At a wedding that I was at on Saturday, the grandmas even came out to learn the dance. It was great! Personally, I wouldn't want to use that song for the wedding party's entrance because I'd want to save it for everyone else.

I agree with Andrea- you definitely should save that song for the actual dancing at the reception since it does get a TON of people on the dance floor Smiley smile

The DJ should be able to discuss with you the best way to coordinate the entrance with the song. One other idea is to choose a similar up beat song to come out to and then once everyone is out do the Cupid Shuffle. Then that can lead into your first dance. I think that would be something unique that no one else has done before.

I agree with the others that its a song you want everyone to dance to, but at the same time, if you want it as your entrance, then do it! I personally think it would be really cool.

I agree with saving it. The people who will dance will want to dance to it.

And being a line dance, I think it would be really hard to dance to coming in.

And how does your bridal party feel (the guys, specifically) feel about having to dance coming in to the reception? No matter what they tell you- most of them HATE it... And your guest will just think it's cheesy.

I only heard that song once and now my second when I youtube it. The first time I heard it was in my friends sons friend bday party. Im so used to the cha slide lol. The cha cha slide dance is what we are going to play for everyone to dance. I think the cupid shuffle is a little hard to follow with the twist. I think you should save it for the dance so everyone could jump in and dance

OK- now that I am all up to date (have heard it before but didn't know that was what we were talking about LOL)....I think its great. I wish the best for you as I know in my house there is no way that my man will do that or even understand the steps. LMAO. Lets just say we are lacking some dance skills. But I am not sure that I could get the bridal party to do it. Think my girls would be down but the guys....not thinking so much.

LOL! Cute idea but like the other ladies said consider playing it again so the rest of your guest can dance to it. But the latest line dance is the Wobble... if you really want to be cutting edge.

I am playing it at my wedding...and I have already taught my grandmother the steps...and she has them down so good she was teaching my cousin(one of my bridesmaids) how to do it over the weekend. So it is going to be a blast!!!

Definite at my wedding, along with the casper slide. My only question would be on how would they move forward towards there final destination. What about if the whole bridal party started the dance out in the hall ( so everyone can be on the same page) each couple enters the hall doing the dance and is announced, and try to do the dance in a forward motion until the next couple is announced and they can stop because the focus is off of them, and on the next couple so they can casually stroll to the table or were ever you have them going. I would personally use this song as a motivator to get people on the dance floor. I would use a different line dance to get your bridal party in. Have you heard of the casper slide. It would work easier with directional flow.

I would save the for the wedding and not just the wedding party. Its a great song to play if the dance floor has starts getting empty. Put that song on and the dance floor will fill right back up. I would save the song for something other than the bridal party entrance. Just my opinion.

I love the Cupid Shuffle. But... while it's not inappropriate for a bridal party entrance... I'd like to offer some insight...

If you do a really high energy song for your wedding party... then the energy DROPS when you do your grand entrance. It's going to be really hard to "one up" The Cupid Shuffle for YOUR entrance.

I would recommend you consider something a little softer for your bridal party... and something REALLY big (even the Cupid Shuffle) for yourselves.
