Custom beer glasses as favors

Young-n-Happy, on November 20, 2015 at 10:45 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 18

My FH and I are having a beer themed wedding. Nothing over the top beer themed- specifically we'll be serving craft beers, some home brewed beers (and wine!), we have hops in our flowers and our centerpieces will be growlers filled with hydrangeas and babies breath. Our venue requires us to provide just about everything including rented china and glassware.

We've tossed around a few ideas for favors- I thought beer soaps would be nice but I can't find any that I can buy in bulk that I like the scent of. Then the idea hit me that we could get custom made pint glasses with our name and wedding date and people could use them at the wedding for the evening and take them home.

My question is: Do you think it's OK for them to keep the same glass all night? Should I order extra and have the servers keep washing them (we're only doing bottled beer btw)? What about for those who would like to drink wine or water? Will I have to provide other glasses for those beverages?

We are doing pint glasses as escort cards/ favors since our wedding is at a brewery. People can use them as their glass for the night if they want, but they don't have to. I would say if you want them to use them as their glass, make sure they know they can take it with them. I would have extra glasses as well as a way to wash/dry them at the end of the night. Or maybe have plastic cups for people who don't want to use their pint glass. Not sure if you are having kids at your wedding, but we are getting plastic cups with superheros on them for the kids and putting crayons and a coloring book in them.

RJmargo- thanks! Good to know someone else is doing this. I was thinking of having plastic cups for the kids anyways so that makes sense to just get a bunch more just in case. I wonder if I should attach a tag or put a tag in each glass explaining that they may use/take the glass?

Did you find a vendor yet? I've been looking online and 4imprint.com looks like the best price so far.

I recently attended a wedding where favors were customized stemless wine glasses (with the couple's names and wedding date), which guests used for drinks throughout the night. This was cheaper than renting stemware for the reception, but I thought it was a little awkward.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. I think I might give people the option but stemware rentals aren't cheap. I might use durable clear plastic. Our venue is a historic mansion. We're not going ultra formal but I'm hoping plastic won't seem too cheap?

My friend did wine glasses with the guests name on it and their table number. I still have the glass 4 years later, I think using the glasses as an escort card and favor is better than just doing the favor with your name and wedding date on it. I don't know that I would use the glass after the wedding gift it had their names on it.

Brigit, Thanks! How did she add the name and number on it? Was it done by hand? I was hoping to use a vendor that does bulk logo printing on pint glasses.

Yea she did them buy hand, she used black board paint on the base and wrote the names with a white paint pen.

Get a sign that says something along these lines so people understand!! If you don't want to customize the pints themselves, you could tie on a tag with the person's name and table number!

We found a few vendors on etsy that are inexpensive. If you connect with me (currently on mobile or I would connect), I can send you links tonight. We are going to use them as escort cards. I plan to do something similar to this pic where I attach the card to a straw and the card has their name and table number on it. For the kids, we are doing the same thing, it's just a plastic reusable cup, so they can't break it. I think you could do something similar and have plsatic clear glasses at the bar if people don't want to use the pint glass. As other posters suggested, maybe put a sign explaining.Eta: I think the sign Lynnie posted would work.

We went to a wedding this past summer where we received plastic pint glasses as favors, and I have to say, I LOVE them. Probably my favorite wedding favor I've ever received Smiley smile

I would provide other glasses for people to use at the event. I mean, if it's a significant savings not to provide other glasses, then maybe I'd consider that, but I think it's nice to have the option. I guess if they have a water glass in addition to this, that could be enough?

I like the idea but I would put your names on a label or tag of some sort. I personally wouldn't use a glass with someone else's wedding date on it after the actual wedding.

I've gotten one as a favor before and still use it! Maybe you could also have a few dozen cheapy IKEA wine glasses available on the side for those wine drinkers. We had a backyard wedding, so used plastic cups for beer, but I bought real ikea glasses for the wine drinkers. Afterwards, I washed them and gave them away free at work. :-)

We did mason jar mugs as our escort cards and sort of favors (we had other favors as well). We didn't find it to be a big deal for people to only have one glass. Granted the caterers provided water glasses during dinner but they left as soon as dinner was over so after that they only had the one. Our beer was in bottles so really the mugs were only for our signature drink (caramel vodka apple cider!), water, and wine. There was a sink to rinse them out (that wasn't in the bathroom) so I didn't see an issue at all.

I'm having a beer themed wedding too! My FH is brewing all the beer for the reception. I'm trying to decide what to do as favors, and so far my favorite is custom koozies! These can be used by people drinking beer, soda, or what have you! Kids will even enjoy them.

I'm going custom wine glasses and i an boxing them and having other wine glasses on the tables to use. I would rather them not use it so they can use them at home after the wedding.
