Custom converse...

I'm thinking, instead of wearing fancy sandals or flats or heels (FH and I are the same height) that I would get custom Converse lowtops made in my colour, royal purple, with the word "Bride" on the heel stripe, to wear for my wedding day. I'm all about comfort, and I figure if my dress is long...

I'm thinking, instead of wearing fancy sandals or flats or heels (FH and I are the same height) that I would get custom Converse lowtops made in my colour, royal purple, with the word "Bride" on the heel stripe, to wear for my wedding day. I'm all about comfort, and I figure if my dress is long enough that the shoes won't show when I don't want them too. Plus, I have this idea of FH and I wearing matching shoes and having some cute pictures taken of them after the ceremony.

Worst case scenario, I wear sandals or flats for the ceremony and change into the converse for the reception if it looks too super awkward, and end up with a pair of shoes that serve as memorabilia.

But has anyone else seen or done something like this?

    We are wearing custom chucks as well. I thought it was super cute and special until I realized everyone has started doing it. And as I'm already 6 foot heels aren't really needed so we are doing the chucks anyway.

    @SarahStillwell thank you!

    @Sara thank you! I was looking for TMNT ones and couldn't find any that I liked so I put the idea on hold for a while. Then while doing a musical I met someone who was super crafty and had never done shoes before but said he'd be willing to give it a go. He designed them himself, then hand-painted it all. FH is jealous that I have a custom pair and he doesn't.

    I get that Converse has become overdone, but they're super comfortable and our wedding isn't super formal. I thought about wearing flats for the ceremony, but why buy another pair of shoes when they won't be seen anyways?

    Lol I really don't see how wearing a certain type of shoes can be "overdone"... wouldn't that be most wedding trends then by default? I honestly just didn't know if it was an OK thing to do or if it would be out of place haha but I'm glad I won't be alone! And personally I'm not an overly formal person so I couldn't care less.

    FH and I are wearing the same/matching pair in our primary color as well. The wedding party will be wearing grey ones. It's a part of who we are together, overdone or not.

    Instead of converse (since it's played out) I got keds by kate spade. They're glittery and comfy. I couldn't find any flats I really liked...

    YES. And don't worry about it being overdone. If it's you, it's you. Fun ideas like this get ruined because people do it only because it's trendy, not because they've been wearing Converse forever (haiii). Have fun and don't worry what other people think!

    FH and groomsmen are wearing purple Chuck Taylors during the ceremony. Bridesmaids and myself will be changing into them after the ceremony. We are going for comfort and fun......

    I'm way over the sneaker/dress .....sneaker/tux thing. Sorry. It's not edgy, it's not flattering, it's not cute.

    If you want to wear them, go right ahead. They're your feet.

    You can get Converse customized for weddings at https://tready.shoes/products/custom-dog-converse-high-top-chucks . It can be photos, logos, wedding party names. They come out great and more affordable than hand painted.
